Hier soir, François Sauvêtre nous a régalé avec son menu "Retour de chasse" orienté sur le travail des champignons, de la truffe et du lièvre à la royale, un grand classique de la cuisine française, adroitement repensé avec une vision moderne de la gastronomie.
Entrée aux cèpes chips croustillants de châtaignes et truffe généreuse, suivi d'un lièvre revisité talentueusement associé aux sorconères racines de persil et girolles constituant un ensemble lisible, nous a ravis.
Le désert particulièrement créatif, servi chaud, mariait harmonieusement : mousse de chocolat-café, champignons, sorbet à la truffe. Un trait de génie.

We chose this place for our Wedding Anniversary lunch during a city break to Bordeaux in November 2023. It did not disappoint. We thoroughly enjoyed the 6 course tasting menu and I had the delicious wine pairings to accompany it.
The dishes were complex and delicious - made from local produce and each plate presented immaculately!
The restaurant front of house team - wait staff and sommelier, were extremely friendly and able to provide detailed explanations of what we were served (in english if you need it). We never felt at any moment rushed during the meal.
Had we spent longer in Bordeaux we would no doubt have returned as the other dishes and seasonal menus served to fellow diners looked amazing too!
The quality of the food means that the experience is not inexpensive, but compared with other restaurants we have visited of a similar standard - it represented good value.
I hope our congratulations were passed to the chef and kitchen team as they absolutely deserved it. Loved every minute of it.
