HÔTEL DES REMPARTS ^{* * * *}

We stayed here in June 2025 for three nights. We reserved a “Traditional Double” room in this 4-star hotel. The hotel was charming, well-appointed, and had a wonderful courtyard. Our room (named Corton) was generally quite clean and had a mini refrigerator and coffee making supplies. However, the bathroom had obvious black mildew in several places in/around the shower. It was also impossible to shower without getting water in other areas of the bathroom floor, which then required that we use the bath towels to mop up all the water. Also, the layout of the furniture in the room was a bit challenging to navigate. The bed is too large for the space, the fireplace mantle encroaches too far into the narrow path to the bathroom, and the bathroom door only opens about one-third before it hits the bed. ||An oddity about our room was the fact that our bathroom did not have an electrical outlet for the hair dryer. So, when we wanted to use the hair dryer, we had to find an outlet in the bedroom area. The bathroom only had an outlet for a European electric razor, which will not accommodate a European hair dryer.||We think the owners should sleep in this room for one night in order to better understand the improvements they should make to this room.||The included breakfast each morning was delicious and fabulously presented, with excellent service from the staff. The front desk staff members were also extremely helpful and provided excellent service and recommendations. The courtyard was a relaxing place to have breakfast or to enjoy a glass of wine.||Parking was on-street and very close (either in front of or behind the hotel) and easy to pay using an app.||We recommend this hotel, but staying in a room other than Corton may provide a better guest experience.

Hôtel charmant et bien placé, accueil moyennement chaleureux et personnel peu disponible (car peut-être peu nombreux certes).
Mais surtout le monsieur qui était de garde de nuit a été vraiment désagréable, pas du tout compréhensif et même carrément malpoli.
Ce monsieur a mis 15 mins avant d’accepter de donner la clef de la chambre, car nous avions donner le numéro et non le nom écrit sur le porte clef.
Nous avions envie de fumer une cigarette en buvant un verre dans la cour car il faisait 30 degrés, il nous a crié dessus en nous l’interdisant et nous demandant de rentrer au fond du bar.
Nous avions ramener une bouteille et voulions boire un dernier verre, il n’était pas content car celle-ci ne venait pas de son bar, nous avons alors demander à en acheter une ou boire une boisson sur place, il a tout simplement refusé et préféré nous donner un tir-bouchon pour ouvrir notre bouteille.
Il a aussi refusé de nous fournir des verres à pieds et nous a donner des verres à eau en précisant « qu’il fallait quand même pas exagérer ».
Après un quart d’heure, il est revenu nous embêter et nous avons donc décider de monter dans nos chambres.
Vraiment dommage, c’était digne d’un gag et certainement pas digne d’un 4 étoiles.

Je n’aime pas du tout mettre de commentaire en général, mais alors là je pense qu’il est urgent que les responsables ou patrons soient avertis.

Rustikal-morbides Hotel mit Charme, man sucht die Queen-Mum in jedem Zimmer, blitzblank, freundlicher Empfang, gutes Bett. Auf der Strasse vor dem Haus parkt man ab Samstag 19 Uhr gratis. Innenstadtnah, brauchbares französisches Frühstück.

A beautiful, quietly elegant hotel on a quiet street with wonderful staff who were so helpful to these jet-lagged tourists. The location was perfect -- an easy walk from the train station and into the town center. Lovely breakfast that included local gingerbread!

We loved this hotel! The employees are the best. They helped us settle in to our room up the circular stairs, get to the parking garage, and gave us tips for restaurants. Our room was beautiful, with a lovely bath en suite. Plus they served a lovely breakfast! Easy walking distance to the heart of Beaune. We would return, and I sincerely hope we can!
