Albergo piccolo, stanze semplici.Ottima posizione.Mike alla reception molto gentile simpatico e disponibile.Colazione buona, semplice ma abbondante.Si è liberi di entrare ed uscire ad ogni ora in quanto si hanno le chiavi.Macchina caffè thè cappuccino ecc..a disposizione a tutte le ore.Sono stata bene.

I had booked months in advance, but since my flight got delayed, they took the opportunity to move me to room #10 which is on the 3rd floor. The place has no elevators and the stairs are narrow and tall.
When I was checking in, they pretended that this was an upgrade. Even though the receptionist was nice enough to help with my carry on; I still had to carry 23kg of luggage up the stairs.
The room was damp, cold, and the floor felt like it was crumbling. The insulation (noise and weather) is not great. There was noise from the cafe across the street, but I expected this as a tradeoff for good location.
They also have a weird breakfast time slotting. Even though when I had mine, the dining area was empty.
Overall, the employees are friendly; service and location is good. My room sucked and definitely not worth the money.

I had the most lovely stay at Amistad Hotel! Mike was such a welcoming host and went above and beyond to make me feel "gezellig". The daily breakfast is amazing, too - Mike made some of the best pancakes I've ever had. Despite the small size of this classic Amsterdam house, the room felt modern, clean and spacious. I would be more than happy to stay here again on my next visit!

Was a centrally located close to galleries, clubs, cafes, kafes & restaurants. We had nice downstairs room with no stairs which was perfect for our luggages. Very helpful friendly staff who also provided lovely breakfasts.

Alles super, tolle Lage, sauberes Zimmer, freundliches Personal und leckeres Essen. Das einzige Minus ist die unruhige Straße die ganze Nacht aber ja, in Amsterdam ist das erwartet. Die Erfahrung wird bestimmt in der Zukunft wiederholt werden ????.

Petit hôtel très bien situé, tout à proximité à pied. Accueil très chaleureux et le personnel au top, merci à Mike pour les petits-déjeuners et pour ses bons conseils !

nice place. simple and modern facility. also breakfast: simple and good. Hotel is very centrally located, that means the nights are not silent (which is self-explanatory)

I can't say enough good things about this hotel.
Yes, it's a boutique hotel, and the rooms are very small. Especially in the single room, the sink, shower and toilet are right next to the bed. But this is understandable if you think of the price and location. It beats other hotels in values.
The location is perfect, not at the centre of the tourist attractions but within 20 mins walking distance. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops around. It is very convenient that I didn't take public transit during my stays.
The best thing about this little hotel is the people who work here and the guests. Mike and Margot are extremely friendly and helpful. They make all of us feel at home by cooking delicious breakfast every morning. The big family-style table on the ground floor is the highlight of the experience. I met some interesting travelers and made great friends here while we had breakfast at this table. We even went to events (aka parties) together during Pride. When traveling solo, meeting like-minded people is important and makes the journey safe and fun. This hotel offers such opportunities to meet new people like in a hostel, but sleep in clean private rooms. We were even talking about having a reunion next year at this hotel with the same guests/friends we just met a few days ago.
I absolutely love this place and the great experience I had in Amsterdam. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. If you like meeting new people/travelers on your trip, this is no doubt the best place.

A wonderful loft style room. Comfortable and clean. The only downside was there was no lift for our luggage, and no aircon which made it quite hot during our summertime visit. Staff are very attentive and the breakfast is great.

La salariée de l'hôtel vient m'alerter. Grosse inondation au rez-de-chaussée (dans la cuisine - cafétéria) liée à ma douche.
On me demande de changer de chambre.
Je questionne sur la possibilité d'une chambre sur cour mais cela n'est pas envisageable car tout est complet.
On me reloge au premier étage, en dessous de la précédente.
Je m'exécute.
Cela me convient toujours car la chambre du 1er est exactement identique à la précédente.
Jeudi matin, je prends une douche...et à nouveau grosse inondation au rez-de-chaussée.
Le responsable arrive alors.
Il perd son sang-froid.
Il rentre dans une grande colère et ne contrôle plus ses émotions.
Il me hurle dessus devant des clients médusés.
Il m'accuse d'avoir détérioré la douche à deux reprises.
Il me demande de prendre mes affaires et de quitter l'hôtel dans l'heure.
Je suis sidéré, assommé.
J'essaie de me défendre mais en vain, le responsable ne m'écoute pas et demeure dans une logique paranoïaque.
En 35 ans de voyage, je n'ai jamais vécu cette situation et je suis désemparé.
Je conserve toutefois mon sang-froid et demeure respectueux dans mes échanges.
J'ai beau clamer mon innocence (je suis aidé par un client très sympa qui parle très bien anglais et fait office de traducteur ; lui aussi semble surpris et gêné de la situation).
Je demande à voir la douche pour comprendre le problème.
Le responsable enlève le cache devant le syphon et affirme que j'ai cassé ce dernier pour la deuxième fois.
C'est ce qui aurait provoqué l'inondation en dessous de la chambre.
Je ne vois rien de cassé...le client traducteur non plus.
On nage alors en pleine folie et surtout j'ai affaire à de la très mauvaise foi !
Cet événement a été vécu comme une grande violence pour moi (me crier dessus devant des clients, m'humilier et "m'expulser" en me mettant la pression pour que je fasse mes bagages au plus vite) .
J'ai appelé booking.
De longues minutes d'attente puis enfin un interlocuteur qui parle français.
Aucune solution si ce n'est de trouver à mes frais un nouvel hôtel.
Vive panique et mauvais moral : allais-je trouver un hôtel à la dernière minute ? Devais-je écourter mon voyage ?
Au final, via Booking, j'ai trouvé un autre hôtel.
J'ai dû régler 418 euros pour 3 nuits. Un cauchemar et une dépense non prévue.
A ce jour, booking me fait un premier geste commercial en reconnaissance de ma bonne foi.
