My self, my wife, bother and Sister in law took a trip to Carcassone in early April and chose to stay at the hotel du pont viex.|Well, we expected a small, quaint, independant hotel. We found a small independent hotel, butcertainly not quaint or stuffy, but a lovely hotel with a small team running the desk and breakfast room. |The rooms were well sized, clean and smart, the views were great while the breakfast had a good range of tasty options. |The hotel is well worth the cost.|Further, it is well placed for walking into the new town as well as up the hill to the old town and castle.|This hotel really is a treat!

We spent a couple of nights at Hotel du Pont Vieux in late-April and found it to be very comfortable. The rooms are clean, large, well appointed and even include Nespresso coffee machines. While it has to be acknowledged that there is not an elevator it also has to be noted that the ‘Panoramic Terrasse’ on the 3rd floor (US 4th floor) alone is worth the climb at any time of day or night for a totally captivating view of the old castle, wall and ramparts that many would pay for by itself - see attached photo! Breakfast was a comprehensive buffet with enough options for all and a lot of local items such as sausages and cheeses. Jean Michel Robbe and Catherine Forestier were both very pleasant and helpful with good recommendations for restaurants either on the same street as the hotel or in the Medieval City. Secure covered parking was available at a nominal cost and we have already enquired about dates for a return visit. Make sure you say ‘Hi’ to the Isadore, the resident hotel cat!

Hôtel très sympa, accueil charmant, chambre spacieuse et propre, bel emplacement. Une très bonne adresse pour visiter Carcassonne.

Chambres très propres et confortables
Amabilité des propriétaires sans faille.
Un petit bémol pour le petit déjeuner car en mettant des plages horaires c'est la cohue quand tout le monde arrive en même temps et les derniers servis doivent se dépêcher pour laisser leur table aux suivants . . .
Mais c'est très variés et copieux !
