They recently had a new menu, so most dishes are new! The foie gras and beef tartare were superb. The homemade truffle butter for table bread was so delicious that we wanted to buy and takeaway from them!! The gentleman who helped us take our order was wonderful, friendly, and professional- HUGE applaud to him!! He made our meal pleasant. He seems to be the only one working on the table. Not sure what the two ladies who greeted us to our table in the beginning were doing during meal time? Additionally, the two ladies were both a bit arrogant and rude-could be looked into! Recommend the restaurant overall!

The food was just average—nothing stood out or left a lasting impression. That said, the pricing for both food and wine was very reasonable, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant and inviting.
Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. Upon arrival, I was nearly turned away with the claim that the restaurant was full. It took speaking with the manager to be seated. Yet, throughout my entire visit, the restaurant remained at least 75% empty, which made the initial interaction feel unnecessary and unwelcoming.

Tout était parfait. Le service aux petits soins, dans un cadre très cosi.
Chaque plat est une petite œuvre d art avec une présentation très travaillée, amuse bouché, entrée plat fromage dessert, que des surprises !

We came back here again on 30 June for dinner. This time we were seated indoor. The environment was very good, food excellent and staff very friendly and professional. I and my family loved all the dishes. Will definitely come again when we visit Bordeaux in the near future.
We took lunch in this restaurant on 28 June. We ordered, among other dishes, seafood platter, fresh oysters, octopus, beef cheek and pork tenderloin. The seafood and beef were good, but the pork tenderloin was a bit overcooked. Since we were seated in an outdoor environment, the dishes attracted flies. Though the staff later on lighted some candles for us with a view to drive the flies away, the experience tarnished the overall experience of us. I seldom wrote restaurant reviews, but would like to raise the last point so that Lavinal management would look into the situation for improvement.

Une soirée hors du temps dans un cadre parfait. Le foie gras et la côte de bœuf etaient parfaits, arrosés d’un St Estephe délicieux. Le seul point à améliorer : les frites, mais c’est un détail

I was there yesterday and I have quite a lot of dietary restrictions (allergies). They helped me out without any problem and I could eat delicious food. The staff was very helpful to accommodate me, honestly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.

A Disappointing Visit Despite a Lovely Setting
The restaurant is nicely presented with a pleasant outdoor seating area, which we appreciated. However, the service was very disappointing.
I was served a very chewy steak, and surprisingly, no steak knife was provided. I asked for ketchup for my fries, but it never arrived. The dessert had a strange taste, almost like onions. When I mentioned this to the waitress, she insisted it didn’t contain onions and didn’t even offer to check with the kitchen.
We gave our feedback at the end of the meal, but the staff didn’t seem to care or take our comments seriously. It’s a real shame because we’ve had good experiences here in the past and were hoping for the same this time. Sadly, this visit was very disappointing.

Un vrai coup de cœur ! Nous avons déjeuné entre collègues dans ce petit restaurant plein de charme. L’accueil a été irréprochable, le service attentionné et la cuisine absolument délicieuse, pleine de saveurs. Mention spéciale au chef qui est venu nous saluer en fin de repas, une attention que nous avons beaucoup appréciée.
Un endroit où l’on se sent bien, et que j’ai déjà hâte de faire découvrir à mon entourage! Merci pour ce beau moment, nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir ❤️

je trouve que ce menu à 45 euros est un tout petit peu trop cher par rapport à ce que nous avons eu. Par contre le service a été très efficace, puisque gentiment, une jeune femme nous a délogé de cette triste salle, derrière la cuisine, et nous avons pu déjeuner dans la salle principale. Nous aurions aimé déjeuner dehors......aussi

J'ai découvert ce restaurant lors d'un repas entre copines (merci Émilie !) : le cadre est juste sublime avec cette petite place bordée de fleurs. Nous avons mangé sur la terrasse. J'ai trouvé la cuisine simple et raffinée, la cuisson de mignon de porc fût parfaite ! Notre jeune serveuse fait honneur à sa profession ; souriante, discrète, très professionnelle. On en trouve si peu maintenant ! Nous avons eu le plaisir de rencontrer le chef qui nous a bien gaté. Je vais revenir avec ma famille pour leur faire découvrir ce lieu qui vaut le détour !

The food was very good. They had a good variety of options for the daily menu. Very good prices. I had a carrot soup that was wonderful, the duck was good as well. Their bread and basil butter was fantastic. I do have to say that the Rum baba was not edible. It was as if they just poured a cup of pure rum over the cake. Not sure what happened there. Very good overall.

Réservation de dernière minute un samedi soir, donc nous avons été assis dans la salle du bar ce qui était aussi bien car plus calme que la grande salle. Oui avons très bien mangé. La qualité et la créativité étaient au rdv et on s’est régalé. Les serveuses étaient souriantes et avec beaucoup d’humour mais elles avaient fort à faire à gérer la caisse et les deux salles à trois.
