Classic room should be described as basic room. Arrived for 2 nights stay for our special anniversary weekend , very, very, very dissapointed to be placed in a dingy room with no view, overlooking the extractor pipes and wall! We asked at reception for an upgrade, the young man on the desk we felt was very rude and refused a upgade saying we got what we asked for a "classic room" we felt very embarrassed and humiliated and this spoilt our stay. Certainly something could have been done to lesson our disappointment, also breakfast room on Monday morning was a farce with waiters running accross the room as not enough staff.
Also the bath in our room could not be filled with water as the plug did not work. (the water kept running away) and no shower cap for my wife> ( small thing to point out , but important if you don't want to get your hair wet) so could not use shower either!!
To sum up our stay this time very, very disappointing. We had stayed at this hotel in year 2006 and it was lovely, how things have changed.

I've found very dificult to change the room temperature, we've had to keep the window open during winter time to make it colder.

The room was iat a very good standard but very warm. Air conditioning would be appreciated as opening the window brings the noice from the street into the room. Thanks for a nice but too short stay.
