HM is a great value for the money. Location is excellent. Staff could not have been more helpful. The front desk is staffed 24 hours. This is a 3 star hotel in an old building. It is boho stylish, mildly quirky in shape and space. The floors may creak a bit, and the rooms have some mild eccentricities, but that’s what you find in old converted buildings. We appreciate the arty vibe, and the location is perfect. Clean and good value for the money. We love 5 star, 4 star and 3 star hotels, and we especially love the ones that are good value, fun and accurately meet their ranking. Is this a 4/5 star? Nope. Is this a fun, art vibe, slightly boho 3-star hotel in an excellent location with a great staff? Yep! We’d stay here again.

No tengo nada malo que decir de este hotel. Bien ubicado ya que se puede ir caminando a cualquier sitio de interés y la habitación que nos dieron estaba cuidada y con todas las comodidades. Hay descuento para aparcar el coche en un parking cercano.

As others have said, the 5* reviews seem slightly undeserved based on our own experience..

Clean and well located, but fell short on many other aspects:
- EXTREMELY small room. For that price point I have never experienced such a small / cluttered room.
- Very poor security. Required to leave room key (right next to entrance) when going out. Desk is sometimes unattended and anyway they twice gave us the key to someone else’s room. We put our belongings in the car to avoid theft.
- Problem with the electrics. Our iPhones became extremely hot when charging?
- Decor is quite poor - the hallways haven’t been updated since it was an office / apartment building. Quite depressing travelling to and from room.
- Broken lift (need to push the button about 5x to call it)
- Poorly ventilated / bad odour in room. Cheap fans provided but far too noisy for such a small room, so struggle to get a good nights sleep.

Overall - acceptable as a €100 a night budget boutique but above this price point it’s a very poor deal. Better hotels available in Bordeaux...
