Journée spa et restaurant.
Le spa est magnifique, le nombre de personnes limitées favorise ce moment de bien être. Le service est digne d’un 5 étoiles. Bravo.
En revanche, décue par le restaurant, cela commence par le passage dans la salle du bar qui mène au restaurant : on sent bien que l’accueil n’est pas le point fort du barmaid. Cela tranche avec l’accueil de la réception centrale, chaleureux, souriant, avenant. J’aurais apprécié un relationnel client homogène durant mon experience dans cet établissement.
Pour le restaurant, le repas fut bon. Là aussi je pense que le minimum pour une équipe au service est de connaître et de savoir expliquer ses plats surtout quand il n’y en a que 3 au choix. Le descriptif de certains dessert n’etait pas fidele à l’assiette : décrit comme un équivalent de glacé alors que c’etait une simple chantilly au siphon, texture fouetté mais rien d’un glacé.
Je me contenterai du spa une prochaine fois car je sais que le service sera au rendez-vous d’un 5 étoile.

Fantastic stay - could not have improved on anything at this hotel. Beautiful building with a history. Special design with lots of eye catching details. Also amazing warm service with Corentin taking a great care of us!

Restaurant at the property was lovely with great food and good value esp for lunch.

This hotel offers a truly unique and memorable experience, housed within a beautifully renovated ancient Faculty of Science building. Its heritage is seamlessly reflected in the contemporary decor and even the hotel's name, creating a distinctive ambiance from the moment you arrive.

Our room was a comfortable size – neither overly large nor small – featuring a clever and unique transparent bathroom wall in the shower area. This design brilliantly creates an illusion of more airy space and adds a modern, interesting touch. My personal favorite was the giant tub, easily accommodating two people for a truly relaxing bath. We particularly appreciated that all toiletries were from L'Occitane, as their delightful scents enhanced our stay, and we especially welcomed the perfumed Epsom salts provided for our bath soak.
The complimentary spa access for hotel guests (available mornings and evenings without reservation) is a standout feature. It was a truly welcome refresher after a long flight, and we loved soaking in the jacuzzi after enjoying both the dry and wet saunas. We emerged feeling completely renewed and ready to continue our adventure and exploration of the city.
The staff is exceptionally friendly and provides invaluable, personalized tips about the city, covering everything from top sightseeing spots to dining recommendations and even great "caves à vin" for tasting experiences. Beyond the rooms, the terrace, bar, and restaurant areas are beautiful and pleasant. The reception's unique hanging lights create a magical ambiance that will delight Harry Potter fans, reminding them of the Great Hall's floating candles.
The only minor drawback is the hotel's precise location. While it's a very convenient 7-minute walk from the train station, it's true that, as in many cities, the immediate station area isn't always the most charming or glamorous. It's also a bit further from the absolute city center.
However, my husband and I enjoy walking and immersing ourselves in the local atmosphere of each city, so we genuinely didn't mind the distance or environment. In fact, this location allowed us to discover charming local spots and savor simple, authentic fare in between our more indulgent charcuterie and cheese boards. If, however, you prefer a more central or "glamorous" milieu for your stay, or if you're not keen on walking, this might not be the ideal option for you. For those who appreciate unique character, superb amenities, and don't mind a short walk, this hotel is a fantastic choice!
