HÔTEL DES DUCS ^{* * *}

Had a wonderful stay in a Self-catering Apartment in the actual Hotel building. All spotless. I read up on what this hotel offers, across several sites in old Dijon. The Hotel location was perfect for us as we needed an elevator and a washing machine. Staff were all pleasant and very helpful. Luxurious spacious accommodation with a very efficient modern kitchen. We didn’t partake of hotel breakfasts tho only €14 pp but this is why we self-cater, for the freedom it gives us. Grocery stores nearby easy to find. Had a hamburger dinner from shop next door to Hotel and it was excellent. Huge bedroom area with powerful air-conditioning. We hate heat. The weather was still cool with a bit of rain but we used air-con at night when we shut all the balcony doors. Bed large and comfortable. Dijon now our favourite French City and the Hôtel location enabled us to see so much, it was close to everything. Very beautiful large but quiet City and stunning architecture everywhere. The Free Navette buses are a brilliant idea. There is a stop in front of Des Ducs. We rode Navettes anti and clockwise and they enabled us to comfortably visit so much. Because of vehicle control around the major sites Dijon is a walkers paradise and so easy from the hotel. The Church of St Michel is behind the hotel. Notre Dame and Chouette the City Owl on the wall are so close. The fantastic Markets close. Clothing, shoes, bags, linens but most importantly Fruit, vegetables, flowers and cheese. Cheese en masse. Vins and a Bar on site. Very well patronised very early but wonderful to see. Lastly. Mustard. Near Notre Dame was a truly wonderful shop. Neatly contained in one area close by are all the Posh Stores anyone could want. Retail Therapy. Even an Hermes with a delightful young lady happy to chat with non buyers too.

Les chambres sont spacieuses et irréprochables quant à la propreté.
Petit déjeuner bien approvisionné et des produits de qualité.

Très bon hôtel plein centre de Dijon. Parfaitement équipé, fonctionnel et très propre. La chambre au 4e étage est très calme et donne sur les toits de Dijon.

Unglaubliche Enttäuschung: Dieses Hotel kann aus meiner Sicht keinesfalls gebucht werden. Wir hatten extra Superior Zimmer mit schriftlicher Bestätigung gebucht. Bekommen haben wir dann etwas, das man kaum mehr als Hotelzimmer bezeichnen kann. Dunkel, erhöhtes Wandfenster, eng, Schimmel im Bad. Bei der Reklamation wurde ich recht grob zurückgewiesen. Erst wurde ein anderes Zimmer angeboten, das a) jedoch keine bestellten separaten Bettdecken/Matratzen hatte und das wir uns b) auch nicht vorher ansehen dürfen bevor ein Zimmerwechsel fixiert würde. Das habe ich bisher noch in keinem Hotel erlebt. Dann wurde dieses Angebot plötzlich lächelnd ebenfalls zurückgezogen. Man habe nichts anderes mehr. Dies sei das gebuchte Zimmer, obwohl Website des Hotels klar etwas anderes auswies. Kein Schrank. Es habe ja ein Fenster. Siehe Bilder. Die Bilder haben nichts mit dem zu tun, was als Superiorzimmer auf der Website des Hotels ausgewiesen ist. Die Leute an der Rezeption wurden regelrecht frech, als ich die schriftliche Bestätigung gezeigt hatte mit der Begründung, dass die Bestätigung „ja nur von Expedia“ sei. Um 19:30 wurde dann mithilfe check24 angeboten, doch wieder auszuchecken. Zuvor wurde dies mit Rückzahlung verweigert. Darauf haben wir wegen mangelnder Alternativen zu einem so späten Zeitpunkt verzichtet. Ich kann vor der Willkür des Hotelpersonals in diesem Haus nur warnen. Keine Empfehlung für eine entspannte Reise in die doch schöne Stadt Dijon.

Ideal gelegen, super Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Sehr sauber und toll eingerichtet. Willkommens-Ecke mit Getränken und Spielen im EG finden wir super. Besten Dank!
