We just spent six days touring Burgundy with Thomas of Safari Tours. He is extremely knowledgeable, very prompt, a safe driver, super nice, flexible, creative and best of all patient. The time flew by and each day we learned something unique. He is an absolute delight. We then took a river cruise in Bordeaux and we really missed Thomas! Merci my friend!!! Until next time!!

We used Safari Tours for a Burgundy wine tour. The guide was a certified sommelier and grew up in the area. His knowledge and insights were invaluable to our understanding of this wine region. A fantastic tour in every respect and lots of wines to taste. Safari Tours is highly recommended.

As so many have stated, we too had an absolutely amazing time on our private tour. With Thomas guiding and sharing his wealth of knowledge, we really got to experience the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits area. We drank lots of amazing wine, saw the land, had a wonderful lunch and bought a bunch of wine to ship home. Thank you for making this experience special.

During our April 2025 visit to Beaune we engaged Safari tours at the recommendation of our host. Our vineyard and tasting room tour experience exceeded our expectations! We were guided by the incredibly knowledgeable Thomas who had a infinite store of knowledge about the area's history, the many aspects of Burgundian wine culture and interspersed good humor with congenially answering our questions on everything wine.

We were picked up right on time at our doorstep. We took a short but scenic drive from Beaune to Nuits St George during which we stopped at a beautiful point to take in the vineyards view and hear about the old vines and some of the families who have multi-generational presence in the area's wine industry. We continued on through beautiful, charming villages stopping at two wineries for generous tastings.

My husband and I cannot say enough about what a fantastic experience our day with Thomas was. We highly recommend Safari Tours if you want to learn about French wine with an expert who is professional but congenial and clearly loves his job. Merci encore, Thomas! We will see you on our next time in Beaune!

We had an absolutely unforgettable experience with Safari Tours in Beaune. We did a private tour and were fortunate to have Thomas as our driver and guide. Thomas was outstanding — incredibly knowledgeable about the region, its wines and everything in between, and so friendly and engaging throughout the day.

The itinerary was perfectly curated, with visits to three fantastic winemakers, each offering a unique perspective and tasting experience. We also enjoyed an excellent lunch that was a highlight in itself.

Thomas’s passion for Burgundy and its wines truly made the day special. We learned so much, tasted incredible wines, and felt completely looked after from start to finish. He even helped us with our wine shipping back to the US through a local company!

We can’t recommend Safari Tours and Thomas highly enough — this was a fabulous day that exceeded all expectations.

Excellent moment.... notre guide Pauline était très sympathique, passionnée et nous a non seulement fait goûter d'excellents vins mais elle nous a donné de nombreuses informations sur le vignoble et le travail de la vigne. Le tour de 4 heures est passé très vite.

We had the great pleasure of taking a Safari tour with Thomas as our host. We signed up for a public tour, but being during the quieter times, we ended up just the two of us with Thomas. It was a fantastic day where we saw three quite different wineries and tasted quite a few wines. Thomas is very knowledgeable and personable, sharing loads of information and lore with the cool confidence of a local. He even helped me with my English, his skills being objectively superior to our own. The wine was delicious, the countryside is glorious, and the experience was perfect. Thanks.

We enjoyed an amazing wine tour today withThomas our expert guide.
He was prompt and the Mercedes vehicle was extra clean and very comfortable. His knowledge was evident before we set off and he answered every question with obvious in depth knowledge.
We visited 3 marvelous proprietes; each of which differed in character and style.
We gained an expert over-view of the geography of the various and complex climats.
Lunch was exceptionally good; classic cuisine de bourgogne with very nice wines by the glass.
Thomas was very helpful dropping us off at our hotels and car park to stow our wine.
Thank you Safari and thank you Thomas for an excellent day out.
(Thomas’ command and use of English is faultless!)

Unforgettable Wine Tour Experience!

Charly and Fabien made our wine tour an absolutely unforgettable experience! Their hospitality was top-notch from start to finish. They went above and beyond in every way—handling all of our group's transportation requests with ease, remembering everyone's names, and ensuring every detail was perfect.

Their attention to detail and willingness to accommodate every need made the trip seamless and enjoyable. Every guest in our group was thrilled with the level of service and the genuine care they showed throughout the entire tour. I can't recommend them enough!

This was a private wine tour of the Grand Crus vineyards. Our guide was very accommodating but a little young. It was a bit too long and we felt as though we were just being driven around in circles to pass the time of the tour we paid for and to get to the last tasting. It was most fascinating to go to one chateau and see bottles being hoisted down into the cellars. I will definitely say that the restaurant where we had lunch was outstanding and the service was amazing. It was a very expensive tour and not a good value relative to the cost.

Maxine was a terrific guide and driver for our Cote de Nuits 1/2 day wine tasting tour. He was incredibly knowledgeable about wine and the Burgundy wine region. He also had a great sense of humor and personality. I have been wanting to see Domain de la Romanee Conti for years and he took us there and provided great insights. I also want to say how much Mathilde helped with the planning. She was very kind and even helped me find a restaurant for lunch prior to the wine tasting tour. We will always remember this 40th anniversary trip for special days like the one we had with Maxime.

We had a fantastic time on our tour with Pauline through Cote de Beaune and Cote de Nuits. The tour was very informative, even for the very knowledgeable wine lovers in the group. Pauline was fun and friendly and really knew the region. The tastings included in the trip were a mixed bag. The first was fine but not great, the second was very good, and the third was honestly terrible (everyone in the group dumped every wine that was poured). The lunch was really good, in a beautiful hotel with very good food.

Our family did the all day private tour with Charly in the Cote de Beaune/Cote de Nuits and it was the best wine tour we have ever done! From the start of the day until the end, Charly explained so much to us about winemaking, soil and the Burgundy Region and answered any question we had!! We went to three wineries, with Charly selecting certain wines for us to taste and further our learning. We also went to a local restaurant which was fantastic. Great day, don't wait to book in this tour. Thanks again!!

What a privilege it was to have Thomas as our guide on our full day private tour of Burgundy. Passionate, knowledgeable, professional and friendly.

Thomas’s knowledge of Burgundy and wines was truly remarkable. He drove us through different vineyards (including all the must-see big names), and as we went along, he explained the subtleties of the terroir and climates and why that composition produces the special wines that it does. We asked many questions during the day and Thomas answered each one in detail with enthusiasm and passion.

We tasted around 20 wines and enjoyed the blind tasting challenge that Thomas proposed to try and guess what village the wine came from after what we had learnt earlier.

Thomas also gave us advice about good value bottles to buy, which was really appreciated.

Our lunch stop at the restaurant was also fantastic - traditional Burgundy cuisine, and was filled with local families (always a good sign).

Overall, a wonderful, special and unforgettable experience. We will be recommending this tour to everyone.

Nous avons débuté notre matinée Découverte par un accueil chaleureux. Notre guide nous a détaillé notre programme en précisant que nous allions profiter de beaux moments avec des surprises.
Il a réussit à nous faire découvrir cette belle région viticole qu'est Beaune avec les Côtes de Beaun.
Puis dégustations dans 2 Caves de propriétaires familiaux. Moments magiques et belle dégustation.

Je recommande à faire en couple.
nous envisageons de refaire cette expérience de dégustation avec des Amis pour partager de bons et beaux moments.
