My friend and I sat down and ordered a pastry and a drink (just a snack to start the day, there was no one else in the shop and we were not difficult), and the waiter snapped “that’s it?” And stormed off. I thought it may have been a joke because I was so shocked at first but quickly realized from his nasty expression that it was not. Two locals came in soon after and ordered only two espressos which was seemingly not an issue.

Our hotel concierge at Van Cleef made a last minute switch for us to this restaurant since we had a large group and young children. Glad we switched because the experience could not have been any better. The muscles in a vegetable broth was fantastic along with all other items. The owner was expecting us and greeted us with a most welcoming tone. From the minute we entered to the time we left, the choice was perfect. While our group had children, the restaurant is upscale and suitable for anyone. In our case it ended up being family friendly but it's a nice dining spot in Bruges where my wife and I would also go back on a couples adult evening.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was shockingly bad, and the waiter's rudeness was completely uncalled for.

The waiter was not only unhelpful but downright impolite. They seemed bothered by our presence, they ignored our requests, were condescending when we asked questions, and displayed a complete lack of professionalism.

I strongly advise anyone considering dining here to look elsewhere for a restaurant that values its customers and provides the basic courtesy and respect that should be expected.

My husband, who is very fussy, says it's the best tartar he's had in a restaurant. I had the local beef stew, which was tender and flavorful. The service was prompt and attentive.

I thought the grey hair glasses "big man" was fairly racist - very clearly noticed him speak to every white person with a smile but made sneering remarks at us just for us asking "can we sit at any table outside".
