RANDONNÉE ÉQUESTRE RANCH KOULNOUÉ

The Koulnoue Village is a sprawling resort hotel. It has a small pool and is right by the sea but it’s not a swimming beach. It’s less than a five minute drive to the excellent Babou Cote Plage campground and dive center.

The rooms have been modernized and the bathroom was very new, but we did face an issue with the water in the toilet bowl exploding upwards in Room 24. It was dangerous to use the toilet without remembering to put down the toilet cover!

It’s usually almost empty but was full for an event this past Saturday. They turned around the rooms very quickly and ours was clean but the common areas (huge restaurant and toilets) weren’t very clean.

WIFI was reasonably fast even in our room.

Service was very kind and helpful. They loaned us beach towels the day before we checked in so we could go diving in the morning. They did an express wash and dry for us on a Sunday afternoon.

The big negative for us was the food. No lunch was served on Sunday. We had told them we were vegetarians and they advised the kitchen. We were told it would be an a la carte meal and were shocked that we paid almost $35 for a plate of noodles with soggy reheated vegetables clearly left over from the prior day’s event. This was very bad value, compared to the wonderful buffet meal we enjoyed at their sister resort in Poindimie, which did adjust the price for vegetarians.

The breakfast buffet was also mediocre. No cold milk for tea or cereals and no yoghurt. We did get cooked eggs and some fruit left over from the event as well as loads of that events left over custard desserts.

Not a bad place to spend a night or two, but bring some snacks given the dearth of restaurants and supermarkets nearby.

Also, the nearby Shell service station is closed on weekends so fill up in Poindimie.

Très beau séjour avec un très bel emplacement

Hôtel calme, en bord de plage, chambres spacieuses et propres, panorama paradisiaque et activités multiples dans la zone.

Très bon accueil, personnel très agréable.
Chambre propre hormis les portes (besoin d'un bon lessivage) et rideaux(tachés et troués).
Nous avons bien mangé , mais petit déjeuner cher.

Hôtel offrant un cadre paradisiaque et particulièrement calme. La chambre était propre, spacieuse et le lit très confortable. Le personnel, amical et disponible, a contribué à rendre le séjour agréable. Une très bonne adresse pour se détendre.
