Increíble lugar, mágico. Por el ambiente, por sus platos pero más por la calidad y don de gentes de sus dueñas y dueños. Se respira amor y respeto por el trabajo noble de servir y agasajar con la comida. Un imperdible escondido en Ischia que tuvimos la fortuna de descubrir.

Splendida location nella parte alta dell'isola dove deliziare il palato con cibo e vini ottimi ! Il personale attento, gentile, disponibile. La sala rustica ma molto accogliente. I piatti sono dal classico coniglio all'ischitana a quelli ricercati. Infine le ragazze che ci lavorano si sono divise le specializzazioni: vini, dolci , pietanze, ecc. Da andare assolutamente!!! Attenzione se volete il coniglio va detto quando prenotate.

Nell'entroterra ischitano, al di fuori del caotico lungomare turistico, si trova questa rinomata trattoria. Più di un semplice locale, tappa obbligatoria per chi vuole conoscere appieno Ischia, è il racconto autentico dell'isola attraverso la sua cucina ed i suoi sapori. Tutto squisito e presentato con cura e ricercatezza, dalla cortesia e professionalità del personale; non a caso, secondo Gèrard Depardieu, stiamo parlando della miglior trattoria in Campania!

21/10/2023 sembra una trattoria, ma in realtà c'è una presentazione dei piatti da ristorante stellato, cibo della tradizione Ischitana molto buono e vario.

We thought the food was ok
The service was very slow, we were almost ignored
The restaurant litterally has spider webs and a worm was crawling up the wall behind, the place needs a good cleaning
This is the first negative review, I have ever wriiten and first time I never gave a tip.
Not worth the drive to the middle of no where .

Un luogo dove il cibo è arte. La conduzione familiare degli 8 tra fratelli e sorelle è eccezionale e i racconti , le storie di vita vissuta sono un ingrediente fondamentale. Quando andrò ad Ischia sarà una tappa fissa .
E si respira un'aria vintage che mi ha fatto rivivere con un po' di commozione gli anni in cui trascorrevo la mia " villeggiatura" in questa splendida isola verde.

Esperienza super positiva, a partire dalla gentilezza di Mary e la simpatia di Silvia. Coniglio all’ischitana pazzesco, antipasto buonissimo. Il loro benvenuto squisito. Cheescake eccezionale. Non mangiavo così bene da tanto. Atmosfera familiare. Torneremo sicuramente.

5 stelle meritate!! Prima volta a Ischia e prima volta in questo ristorante. Siamo andati sotto consiglio di amici ed abbiamo mangiato una selezione di antipasti tipici e non, un coniglio all'ischitana veramente sublime ed una crostata al limone per finire. Personale disponibile ed alla mano. Prezzo ottimo 50€ a persona servizio, acqua e vino inclusi. Stra consigliato!!!!!!

Visiting Il Focolare was like stepping into a delightful culinary haven. The traditional Ischia rabbit dinner was, without a doubt, fantastic. Every bite hinted at age-old recipes passed down through generations. The family atmosphere enveloped us in warmth and comfort, making the dining experience reminiscent of a gathering at a close relative's home. The service was impeccable, striking the perfect balance between attentiveness and discretion. What truly stands out, though, are the people - their passion for authentic cuisine and their genuine hospitality shine through. A must-visit when in Ischia!

Coniglio buonissimo!
Antipasto buono e ricco ma alcune porzioni davvero piccole (le polpette erano più o meno 2 cm di diametro)
E le vespe facevano davvero paura, ma di più il baygon spruzzato sui bicchieri di vino.

From fabulous to shameful. From
The moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted and cared for by this cheerful family. Started with some apertivo outside, which was wonderful at sunset. Moved indoors where they guided us to the right menu choices and enjoyed a wonderful meal. Was a nice touch learning about the family and meeting the brother chefs in the kitchen. Sadly all this goodwill was ruined by the request for an “optional” tip. I live in Italy now and tipping is not the norm. I respect those who want to leave a tip ….. it is very generous, but in Italy it is not part of the culture. So to ask for it was a shameful shakedown and left me with a bad feeling for what was an otherwise nice evening that left me disappointed.

We had such a special night here!! This family run restaurant is so charming and full of life and love. Everyone is beyond welcoming and nice that it felt like we had been regulars. The food was incredible and the surprise tour at the end was the cherry on top. Cannot wait to return!

One person in our group had seen this on Stanley Tucci. One of the best meals we have ever had. Simply fabulous. Each dish was exquisite. We even got a tour of the wine cellars cut into the limestone going back in family history. The family is simply great and make you feel like they have invited you in their home and not a restaurant.
