We had a fantastic dinner at Trattoria Canuleia. The atmosphere was nearly as excellent as the food, and they were kindly able to accommodate us on a Friday evening without a reservation. A lovely green back courtyard hosted a number of tables. I’d particularly call out the great gluten free options. My wife is allergic to gluten, and there were many options available, including gluten free pasta and bread. The wait staff couldn’t have been more lovely and accommodating.

Absolutely will return next time we are in Lucca.

Mi è stata consigliata questa trattoria da una conoscente del posto. Ha decisamente superato le mie aspettative, tanto da tornarci una seconda volta, durante il mio soggiorno a Lucca. Gli ingredienti moderni si mischiano alla tradizione toscana in un ambiente accogliente. Ho assaggiato un primo piatto di paccheri alla trabaccolara su crema di fagioli cannellini; un secondo piatto di trancio di baccalà su riso rosso e salsa «cacciuccata»; come antipasti ho assaggiato zucca stufata con stracciatella, alici e crumble di nocciole, cecina con baccalà mantecato e pomodorini, tortita di broccoli con seppioline saltate e chips di topinambur. Consiglio soprattutto gli antipasti!

????????was recommended this trattoria by a local acquaintance. It definitely exceeded my expectations, so much so that I went back a second time during my stay in Lucca. Modern ingredients mixed with Tuscan tradition in a cosy ambience. I tasted a first course of paccheri alla trabaccolara on cannellini bean cream; a second course of cod steak on red rice and 'cacciuccata' sauce; as starters I tasted stewed pumpkin with stracciatella, anchovies and hazelnut crumble, cecina with baccalà mantecato and cherry tomatoes, broccoli tortita with sautéed cuttlefish and Jerusalem artichoke chips. I especially recommend the starters!

Kleines Restaurant mit sehr einladender, heller Atmosphäre. Der Service war sehr freundlich und kompetent. Sowohl die Pasta als auch die Fleischgerichte waren super lecker und hatten einen speziellen Touch.

Locale raccolto e molto curato. Personale preparato ed accogliente. Piatti molto buoni e curati sotto tutti gli aspetti.
La tortita di broccoli con seppioline saltate e Chips di topinamburg veramente buona ma non da meno il petto di faraona o il baccalà!

We visited upon the invitation of a local friend and tried the local bean soup followed by pasta. For dessert, I choosed for an warm apple and ice cream combo. Each dish was quite delicious. Despite a single waiter handling multiple tables, there were no delays or issues. I must commend them for that."

Ambiente carino e raccolto. Da anni volevo provarlo, fino a che non sono stato invitato da amici. Devo dire che è stata una piacevole sorpresa. Piatti innovativi ma non troppo, con ottimi accostamenti. Da provare assolutamente! Non è il tipico ristorante Lucchese che ormai strizza l'occhio ai turisti con i piatti della tradizione ... più o meno! Ma un ristorante che propone piatti nuovi e ben realizzati. Veramente una piacevole sorpresa!!!

We had an amazing meal here. Everything tasted so delicious! The waiting staff was also lovely, relaxed, and accommodating. There was a nice mixture of clientele. Families, couples, and friends and so the atmosphere was rather jolly but calm. I'd love to go back here again.
We had two main meals, second start, deserts, a bottle of wine and a couple of more drinks and the bill came to €120.

Sympathique et de bonne tenue .. Cuisine soignée, mais ... il est possible de tomber sur un plat un peu décevant ( gnocchis, en l’occurrence ) Service attentif et carte des vins intéressante..
