Alte und harte Spätzle, kleine Portionen Schnitzel mit altem Fett gebraten. Bier schmeckt nach Eisenleitung. Ja wieder mal ein Trauerspiel deutscher Küche in Berlin..

Atmosphärisch einzigartig und individuell.
Essen ist durchschnittlich, sicherlich kein Gourmet.
Servicepersonal ist schmierig und unverschämt. Gerade der Herr mit den zurückgekämmten schwarzen Haaren ist einfach nur unverschämt. Versucht auf eine unmögliche Art lustig zu sein und ist dabei einfach nur hochnäsig und verschmäht die Gäste.
Wir hatten am selben Tag morgens telefonisch reserviert, als wir ankamen war keine Reservierung für uns vorhanden.

Kleines gemütliches Restaurant. Unbedingt vorher reservieren ( gemütlich aber klein )
Spielregeln:
• Am Eingang aus der Karte wählen
• Am Tresen Bestellen, Speisen / Getränke
• setzen , ambitionierte erkunden*,
• Lecker essen. * Die Wände sind voll von alten Photos alle liebevoll gerahmt und eine Erkundung wert .

Setting and atmosphere are nice. Only the schnitzel and perhaps the cheesecake are good. Portions are OK but definitely not generous. Service is terrible and the staff obnoxious.

Ich kann gar nicht beschreiben, wie sehr ich mich in diesen Ort verliebt habe. Die Atmosphäre ist beeindruckend angenehm, literarisch und photographisch von Joseph Roth geprägt, es läuft herrlich dezente französische Musik, serviert wird sehr leckeres, bodenständiges Essen und überaus süffiges Bier aus dem Steinkrug. Wir kommen wieder, es ist ein wahres Kleinod!

Wir waren über Mittag zum essen dort. Das Essen war sehr gut. Beim eintreten in die Joseph Roth Diele fühlt man sich direkt gut,man wird freundlich begrüßt macht eine kleine Zeitreise. Ein Ort an den man gerne öfters kommen möchte. Bei unserem nächsten Berlin Besuch werden wir das tun. Liebe Grüße vom Bodensee. Klaus

Amazing restaurant, I ordered the Wiener Schnitzel with Spätzel and Salad. They were all amazing, the Schnitzel was big and delicious as well as the others, the Spätzel was homemade with a very good meat sauce.
The service here is excellent, the waiters and staff are very friendly and the food arrived extremely fast.
The ambience complements the traditional german look, you can read a lot of books and newspapers and appreciate the pictures that hang on the walls.
I couldn't leave this restaurant without giving it 5 stars, I would definitely recommend it a lot

Excellent restaurant avec une ambiance chaleureuse et un personnel très souriant.
Le service a été très rapide et les plats typiquement allemand sont fait maison (y compris les spaetzle et les desserts !)
La carte change chaque semaine tout en restant très abordable (entre 10 et 20€).
Je recommande vivement !

Das kleine Hüngerchen zur Mittagszeit ließ uns dieses von außen absolut unscheinbare Kleinod an Gaststätte aufsuchen. Und es war alles prima. Auswahl der Speisen, Ambiente, Qualität und Preis. Eine absolute Empfehlung.

Feels as if you’re transported to yesteryear. Great traditional dishes at a reasonable price. I ordered the rinder goulash and cheesecake and was not disappointed in the least. The portions are just right for one person, so if your thinking of splitting, you’re out of luck. Loved the aesthetic and mood. Candles at each table and the colors were great.

We didn't plan this one at all. I'm not even sure how to describe it TBH. Rustic, cosy, interesting. The food was certainly really good and at a good price compared to a lot of the more mainstream places. We went at lunch, there was no menu, just a big specials board. It seems like it's pretty much all freshly cooked... amazing

I went there to have dinner. I noticed that they had great feedback about traditional german food. I walked in at 4:30pm and asked for a table for one. Male staff told me to come back at 6pm as these tables were all reserved. Understandable, I thanked him and left. During that time, a caucasian time walked in and asked the same question as he didn’t book too. He got the table for himself straight away without being asked to wait around. Super disappointed!
