Visiting the cathedral in Bayeux is truly an awe-inspiring experience. The sheer size of the structure is impressive, commanding attention as soon as it comes into view. Once inside, the intricate detailing and craftsmanship are nothing short of marvellous. From the soaring arches to the ornate carvings, every element reflects a rich history and exceptional artistry. A beautiful cathedral set in atypical town of the region. The Bayeux tapestry is a must see. Quite fascinating fine stitching and accompanying commentary as you walk by,so a real education. There is an interesting museum above with models of norman settlements and examples of the materials and stitches used to sew the tapestry.
We visited Bayeux near D day and it was heart warming to see so many union flags displayed. There were Jeeps on the streets and much associated activity. Bayeux was the first town liberated and still has a sense of that era. Sadly there are many war graves but they are attractively and respectfully maintained. Thank you Bayeux.

Bella Catedral fundada hace más de 1,000 años (aunque su construcción duró varios siglos posteriormente). A pesar de su cercanía a las Playas del desembarque del 6 de junio de 1944, Bayeux no fue bombardeado durante la WW2, por lo que sus monumentos se conservan. No olvides bajar a la cripta. Vale la pena visitarla.

Lovely Cathedral in central Bayeux. Parking can be tricky, but worth trying to find a spot. Very grand, ornate building, we were lucky enough to go in at a time where we could experience a sermon.
