great time here, great location, very reasonable price for a group of people in the apartments, friendly service

Cosy hostel near the centre. The staff was very kind and friendly. I stayed there at the beginning of December some nights. There is a good, well equipped kitchen and free coffee in the morning. There are different room types. The location is good centre is walkable. They also offer different activities every day and excursions around Faro. They also offer family dinner every evening with extra charge. I stayed mixed dormitory with 12 bunk beds. It was big room and I liked that the room has two showers with a toilet inside. The bed was comfy, and the rooms were clean. It's a good place for staying longer. I met there many kind people from different countries. I recommend that place.

Ein guter Hostel, wo man sich wie in einer Familie fühlt. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Schöne und gemütlicher Aufenthaltsräume. Tee und Kaffee gibt es auch gratis.

Staff is exhausted or doesn't know how to smile. Once there is a problem they don't really care. They gave me a room with a grandpa on the lower bed who was talking to himself/singing, turning on the lights every 10 minutes, caughing, farting, moving etc... So good luck sleeping with that. Apparently he lives there as a friend who came last year told me he was there already. Instead of moving me to another room I paid extra to have a better one so that I can sleep properly. Apparently the fact that I am the only one to complain makes them indifferent. Next time I will go to another hotel. The word hostel means for young people but I guess money rules over everything. I don't think it's normal to accept people who are unstable psychologically or at least make a special room for 50+ only just like for the girls

First of all I am not your friend, I am a customer. I have worked for 10 years in a 5* hôtel in Monaco as receptionist and then concierge and I have traveled enough places around the world so I am being very nice to the employees as I know how hard it can be but I am also leaving the deserved reviews for the managers to make improvements when needed whether they like it or not or whether they will make some or not.
My friend made the reservation for both of us as he already came last year and it was half the price. I told him to book the 6 beds since the price difference was around 5€ but he was sure that everyone will do that and the 12 beds will be empty.
When we arrived the 6 beds room was empty so he asked to move us to the 6 beds but we were quoted 14€ per night as in your system the price is different from hostel world which was around 5€. Even I think it's too much to pay such amounts for a hostel bed as if we combine the two of us the hotel would have been a cheaper option.
So I don't see where did he try to bribe your staff. By wanting to pay a fair price difference? Anyway as I mentioned above I could not sleep and I came at 1 am to change to the 6 beds room and I paid the difference right away as I just wanted to get some proper sleep after 2 weeks of traveling. Your receptionnist did not even give the right change and I was given the difference in the morning and that shows how much I did not care anymore.
Secondly having the very old gentleman acting like he was not stable psychologically makes me feel unsafe and unfortunately he probably needs some professional help so needless to say that he does not belong in a hostel full of young inexperienced people who are afraid to talk/complain.

So I invite you to redo your investigation as I am a man of my word and do have a certain pride but by the end of the day it is up to you to manage the hostel the way you want but from the way you handle a critique... And I can say is good luck!
