ALGARVE SURF CAMP

If there is one way to sum up the Algarve Surf Hostel experience, it is this: I came to stay for a month and stayed for seven. And I wasn't the first and won't be the last to fall in love with this place forever.

What Sid and Vic (managers) have created in this hostel is something unique, an atmosphere where volunteers and guests (and lovely cats) feel at home from minute one.

Every week they create several events where volunteers and guests dine together, creating spaces for synergies and getting to know each other, which makes it perfect for solo travellers.

The breakfast is top notch, they bake something fresh every day and there are plenty of options for vegans and vegetarians. Every week there are two family dinners where you can enjoy Sid's incredible cuisine accompanied by an amazing dessert made by Victoria.

The surf lessons are super complete and the instructors will help you to improve your surfing as well as to become an independent surfer in the water so you can enjoy the sport wherever you go.

The hostel is very well kept, has a fully equipped kitchen so you can cook whatever you want, the private rooms are super cozy and the shared dorms have plenty of space and offer lots of privacy as they have curtains and are well insulated for noises.

If you are thinking about volunteering, don't think about it, it will probably be one of the best experiences of your life. Most volunteers repeat or, like me, never leave.

If you are thinking about coming as a guest, don't think about it, you will fall in love with every second you spend at the hostel in the company of the managers, volunteers and surf instructors and Sagres will become one of your favourite places in the world. Pinky promise.

I did the surf camp, and it was so amazing, the place has a beautiful vibe. Volunteers and instructors were very kind, funny and make the place unforgettable. I strongly recommend to make the surf camp, the classes are good, ask the instructors to give you feedback and you can improve a lot. The location is cozy and peaceful and very close to the beaches. Many organized experiences are offered to the guests, from the surf courses and yoga lessons to social moments.
But, more important, people who work in the hostel welcome you as family.

I had an amazing time at algarve surf hostel. I booked a week in the hostel with 5 days of surf lessons. all the teachers have been amazing, the surfing was so much fun. also all the volounteers at the hostel are very nice, they organize a lot of different activities every day, you never get bored. I had an amazing week and would love to come back again!
