Great location with amazing views of the Brooklyn Bridge and the east side of downtown. That alone is a reason to stay here. The rooms are small, and they take the minimalist, industrial feel, and use of sustainable materials a little too far for my tastes. I expected more for the price. Instead of feeling like the hotel is environmentally conscious, I got the sense that the design was more about saving money. I say this because I have stayed at the 1hotel property on Miami Beach, and their overall design is much better. The paper recyclable hangers are a nice idea, but not too functional. The clothes closets could still be made from reclaimed wood, but a better design would be nice. Using metal fencing as a barrier over the bed and to partially separate the bed area from the bathroom is certainly not for everyone and definitely not for me. However, the hotel is still a worthwhile stay if you want to be right next to the Dumbo and enjoy one of the best views in the city.

HIGHLY DON’T RECOMMEND!!! I was supposed to work here as a line cook but the chef, Aron Kiser completely ghosted me! I did a free unpaid trial shift for 2 and a half hours and I wasn’t even considered for selection. Haven’t heard anything from him after I took time out of my day and cancelled my therapy session just to go to an unpaid trial shift! I’m not sure if it’s because I am a female of color or something else but it’s still unprofessional what happened. Also, he couldn’t tell me when breaks would take place during a shift and he lied about stuff during the interview. Don’t waste your time applying here.
