We loved our 5 nights stay at Citizen M Bowery. Check-in was great despite the app not working properly. The front desk made sure we got a great room and it didn’t disappoint! As far as we know, all rooms are the same across all their hotels and focus on quality rather than size (great bed, great pillow, great showers). We stayed in many of their hotels before and the quality remains consistent. The stay would have been 5 stars but we were unlucky and had a couple issues with the rooms (the door lock broke and we ended up being locked up but more importantly the heating / airco wasn’t working properly and the room was cold for the last 3 days of our stay ). We were offered drink vouchers for the inconvenience. Overall we still recommend this location and would consider it again for a next visit to NYC.

Can't access the rooftop bar without showing an id to the barman.
No respect for the liberty of the guests.

Edit after receiving the response:
Thank you for the quick response, however I disagree on two points:
1) the following 2 days I was no longer instantly kicked out from the floor, but the barman gave me 5 minutes and the condition of not sitting down. That is a workable arrangement. The barman on day 1 didn't have to be holier and the Pope laughed at me that I refused to show my ID.
2) your argument that it's all just because of a silly law is invalid, because it was the hotel's choice to use the rooftop for selling addictive harmful substances to the guests. The law is in effect at the rooftop because of the hotel's choice, and the law represents the real degree those substances are harmful.

Great location with easy access to all the best neighborhoods in lower Manhattan. Room was extremely clean. A tiny bit small but all you really need. The staff were exceptional, professional, and extremely helpful. Awesome rooftop bar. Excellent breakfast buffet. And for smokers, they have a little smoking area on ground floor.
