La visite est très bien faite, les explications sont très intéressantes. La visite est assez rapide et vous avez la dégustation de 3 vins en début ou en fin selon. Nous qui détestons les vins licorzux, nous avons été agréablement surpris par le moelleux qui est peu sucré en comparaison avec un Monbazillac.
A combiner avec chamarel ou petit bois ou grand bassin.

Une très belle découverte dans ce petit coin de paradis. Le travail de vinification à partir du litchi est juste exceptionnel pour un rendu très surprenant qui ne laisse en rien supposé la nature du fruit à l'origine. Pari réussi de produire du vin sur un terroir absolument pas propice au raisin. Un passage incontournable pour les amateurs.

Une bouteille 'éclipse' offerte pour une dégustation 'extra-ordinaire' ! Un vin équilibré et très prometteur! Pour des Bordelais, et travaillant à Sauternes, c'est pour nous une découverte magnifique, qui vaut d'être connu! Bravo pour votre travail et votre odace! Agréablement surpris par ces vins, car fait avec du litchi (le seul au monde !). Cependant, visite trop rapide, une dégustation et un film de 5minutes retraçant l'histoire de l'entreprise, puis vous atterrissez dans la boutique... Bouteille chère à la boutique, compter 20€ l'unité.

Pour répondre à la réponse du propriétaire: 14 euros pour une visite de 30 minutes comme vous dites c'est hyper cher et nous c'est que 15 minutes même pas. Ensuite vous vendez votre vin plus cher qu'ailleurs vraiment dommage.
Nous y sommes allé ce matin, j'enlève une étoile car dégustation et visite payante c'est bien dommage surtout que la visite est très courte (15 min). mais en tout cas c'est très bon et bravo pour l'idée du rosé litchi

Bonjour Dylan,

Le prix de la visite est de Rs 350 par personne, conformément au tarif affiché et mentionné dans le Petit Futé. La conversion actuelle étant de Rs 50 pour 1 EUR, cela correspond à EUR 7 par personne. Ainsi, pour deux personnes, le montant total s’élève bien à EUR 14.

Si vous avez effectivement payé EUR 14 par personne, auriez-vous conservé un reçu afin que nous puissions vérifier cette différence ?

Comme dans la majorité des caves, la visite et la dégustation sont payantes, car elles engendrent des coûts (personnel, vins dégustés, etc.). Ce tarif comprend une visite guidée, la projection d’une vidéo informative et la dégustation d’au moins trois vins.

Concernant le prix de nos vins à la cave, ceux-ci sont clairement affichés, et vous êtes libre de faire votre choix. Par ailleurs, nous n’avons aucun contrôle sur la politique tarifaire de nos revendeurs.

n'était pas joignable par téléphone et lorsque nous sommes arrivés pendant les heures d'enregistrement (indiquées sur leur site Web), tout était fermé. Aucun avis sur leur site web ou à l'entrée. Une grande déception !!!

J'ai visité ce vignoble lors de notre tour de l'île et j'ai été très enthousiasmé.
Le vin de litchi est vraiment très rafraîchissant et délicieux.
J'en ai goûté trois sortes et je dois dire que quelqu'un connaît son métier.
Je suis toujours impressionné par les gens qui vivent leur rêve.... beaucoup d'énergie et d'amour dans ce qu'ils font .... beaucoup de succès
Pour moi, c'était une expérience merveilleuse.

Excellents vins. Nous sommes arrivés 10 minutes avant la fermeture, nous n'avons donc pas pu faire la visite, mais le personnel s'est occupé de nous et nous avons pu acheter quelques vins. C'est presque un one man show winery et cet homme fait un travail formidable. J'aurais aimé goûter le vin vieilli, mais il n'était pas disponible, le nouveau sort en mars. Ils ont 2 vins semi secs (blanc et rosé) et 1 vin doux. Le prix est raisonnable pour la qualité et la rareté du vin ! J'aurais apprécié la visite et en savoir plus sur le processus, mais ce n'était pas une visite planifiée, alors peut-être une prochaine fois :)

This was such a pleasant unexpected surprise. Who knew lichi wine could be refined and not a sugar bomb. Rose and the 15 anniversary wine were really good. Also thanks to Arabelle for making the tasting fun and informative.

Wir haben nur Wein und Marmelade gekauft. Keine Führung mitgemacht und auch keine Weinprobe da wir den Wein bereits kannten. Man kann hier auch essen. Parkplatz ist direkt vor dem Haus vorhanden.

Visited as part of a wine/rum tour. We had such a great experience. We were able to test their three main wine and the dessert wine - all of which are incredible! The tour was very good and it was interesting to hear about how they made the wine using lychee (we had never heard of wine been made by anything other than grapes). We were able to purchase all of the wines along with a painting from the owners wife (one of a kind). Would highly recommend people to visit.

Visited in June 2024, an outstanding experience on all fronts. Enjoyed an insightful tour of the winery, with an explanation of the historical development and modern-day processes. Then enjoyed a great tasting, before an absolutely outstanding lunch, with some of the most delicious food we had ever eaten. We finished with welcome purchases of wine, preserves and even some of the art on display!

Incredible experience at Takamaka winery. We planned our visit before visiting Mauritius! From start to finish it has been a delightful visit. Easy to find, well indicated and located. Large parking facilities, warmly greeted by polite, friendly and customer caring staff. Mutiple options for the visit, including tour of the winery, degustation and even dining options all reasonably priced for the high quality wine and staff knowledge about the history of the Oxenham family. We even had the chance to meet Alexander the owner and his wife, a very talented artist, you can also buy her paintings at the winery. About the degustation of the wine, it is UNIQUE and DELICIOUS! Each wines are a testimony to the passion Alexander is putting into the innovative creation. During the visit we learned a lot about how Takamaka was created and also had a glimpse at the production. I mst stop here as I do not want to spoil the visit to anyone, but highly recommended visit!

Food was okay. However, the staff lack customer service, it was piss poor. It started off well, however they couldn't wait an extra 10 minutes for our transportation to arrive and asked us to wait outside the premises in the pouring rain. It was the most humiliating experience I have had here in Mauritius.

Edit: In response to the reply by the owner. I’d like to point out that it was our FIRST time coming to your restaurant and not the third. Deliberately misconstruing facts to discredit my experience is very low. We understand about staff and their transportation issues and we sympathise however having us stand in the the pouring rain was highly humiliating and crass. My review was intended to share my experience in hopes for a change of practice. Thank you

Dear Mirembe and team (since the precious review was made by your friend), It has been reported by our staff that it' s been the 3rd time you came to the winery, and each time we had the same issue with you and your friends trying to stay after closing time. And it’s always the fault of your driver coming late to pick you up. Please don't put the blame on our dedicated and hard-working staff. Some of them live far way and cannot afford to miss their bus. We deeply regret that you had to wait outside, especially if it was raining.

Food was basic but the customer service was horrendous. The staff could not wait 10 more minutes before closing so we could wait for our ride and left us in the pouring rain. I would not recommend.
