SABLE BLEU BOUTIQUE HÔTEL ^{* * * *}

Wonderful little hotel with a roof top (non-heated) pool and bar. I had a great stay and want to send special thanks to Yann and Benji, who made it feel like a 5 star experience for me. This recently built hotel stands out when compared to everything else around Le Marin. Walking distance to both old and new marina, good restaurants and a beautiful view of the bay from the roof top terrace. The rooms facing the sea can sometimes be noisy when locals are having a street party, but I was not affected as my room was on the other side from the street.

Das beste an dem Hotel, und das meine ich mit vollem Respekt, ist das Marketing und die Webseite des Hotels. Es liegt im Yachthafen von Marin, gegenüber der Zollstation. Für Segler also beispielsweise ein guter Ausgangspunkt für den Beginn einer Yachtcharter. Für andere Touristen und Strandurlauber allerdings ein denkbar ungünstiger Ort, um seine Tage auf Martinique zu verbringen. Wir gehörten zu der zweiten Gruppe und dass wir dort gelandet sind war das Ergebnis - ja genau - des erstklassigen Marketings des Hotels. Also unsere „Schuld“. Darüber haben wir uns ein wenig geärgert, hauptsächlich über uns. |Es gibt in dem ziemlich neu eröffnetem Hotel Zimmer mit sog. Gartenblick und solche mit Blick auf den Hafen. Der Gartenblick ist in Wirklichkeit der Blick auf eine blaue Holzwand. Diese Zimmer sollte man deshalb unbedingt vermeiden. Der Hafenblick dagegen hält, was er verspricht. Die Zimmer sind klein, aber funktional ok mit getrenntem WC, Kaffeemaschine (neue Kapseln muss man täglich einfordern) und einer wirklich sehr guten Klimaanlage (leise, effizient und gut regulierbar). Ein absurd schwere Bettdecke hat uns irritiert, aber das ist natürlich Geschmacksache. |Auf dem Dach gibt es eine nette, kleine Rooftop-Bar mit Mini-Pool und schöner Aussicht. |Wir waren Ende März dort, eigentlich Hauptsaison, aber das Hotel war mehr oder weniger leer. Es gab nur eine junge Dame, die für alles zuständig war (Empfang, Bar, Roomservervice, Housekeeping) und per elektronischer Klingel zu den unterschiedlichen Einsatzorten gerufen werden konnte. Die Dame war wirklich extrem nett und hilfsbereit und ich konnte mein Wissen über die Zubereitung von Longdrinks im Rahmen einer kleinen Fortbildung an sie weitergeben. Gleich 2 Mal von insgesamt vier Nächten wurde unser Zimmer nicht gemacht. Die oben bereits erwähnte sehr nette Dame - darf man eigentlich noch sagen „Mädchen für alles“? - hat uns beim 2. Mal angeboten, das Zimmer zu wechseln . Aber will man das? Also sollte es zumindest noch eine weitere Person geben, die für die Zimmerreinigung zuständig ist. Aber die hatte vielleicht etwas anders zu tun? |Meine Bitte, mich bei der Organisation einer Tauchexkursion zu unterstützen, wurde übrigens sehr zuvorkommend auch NICHT erfüllt. |Das Hotel funktioniert also mehr oder weniger, bei entsprechender Vorbereitung und entsprechendem Aufenthaltszweck, zB wenn man unbedingt nach Marin muss. Eine aktive Mitarbeit der Gäste ist aber unverzichtbar. Und man sollte nicht an einem Sonntag da stranden, denn dann ist der Ort quasi tot. |Hauptgrund für eine nur mittelmäßige Bewertung ist zusammenfassend das ungenügende Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis und die personelle Unterbesetzung: das Hotel ist für das, was es insgesamt bietet, einfach viel zu teuer.

The best thing about the hotel—and I mean this with full respect—is its marketing and its website. Sable Bleu is located in the marina of Marin, opposite the customs station. For sailors, for example, it is a good starting point for the beginning of a yacht charter. However, for other tourists and beach holidaymakers, it is a rather poor choice of location for spending their days on Martinique. We belonged to the second group, and the fact that we ended up there was the result—yes, exactly—of the hotel’s excellent marketing. So, it was our own “fault.” We were a bit annoyed about it, mainly with ourselves.

The fairly newly opened hotel offers rooms with so-called garden views and others with a view of the marina. The “garden view” is, in reality, a view of a blue wooden wall, so these rooms should definitely be avoided. The marina view, on the other hand, lives up to expectations. The rooms are small but functionally okay, with a separate toilet, a coffee machine (new capsules must be requested daily), and a truly excellent air conditioning system (quiet, efficient, and well adjustable). An absurdly heavy duvet puzzled us, but that, of course, is a matter of personal preference.

On the rooftop, there is a nice little bar with a mini pool and a lovely view.

We were there at the end of March, supposedly high season, but the hotel was more or less empty. There was just one young lady responsible for everything (reception, bar, room service, housekeeping) who could be summoned to different locations via an electronic bell. She was really extremely friendly and helpful, and I even got to share my knowledge of cocktail-making with her in a little impromptu training session. However, on two out of four nights, our room was not cleaned. The aforementioned very friendly lady offered us a room change the second time. But would one really want that? At the very least, there should be another person responsible for room cleaning. But maybe they had other tasks to do?

My request for assistance in organising a diving excursion was also very politely not fulfilled.

So, the hotel more or less functions, provided one is well-prepared and has the right purpose for staying there—for instance, if one absolutely needs to be in Marin. However, active participation from the guests is essential. And one should definitely not end up there on a Sunday, as the town is virtually dead.

The main reason for a mediocre rating is, in summary, the poor value for money and the severe understaffing: for what the hotel offers overall, it is simply far too expensive.

Avons passé 1 semaine dans cet hôtel remarquable. Chambre et SDB très propres, personnel accueillant, bienveillant et réactif.
Sa localisation dans le sud de la Martinique, entre Sts Luce et Ste Anne est un point positif. Merci à toute l'équipe.
