Review of the bar only:

There are a crowd of us that have been going to the Avenue Lodge bar for a few weeks now. On a Friday they have excellent live music and there is a lovely atmosphere.
Unfortunately, the service is so atrociously bad we have decided to stop going. There are plenty of staff, yet it seems that only one person is allowed to serve us. The others spend most of their time standing around, looking lost.
There is a barman behind the bar but you are not allowed to order there. It is table service only.
The one active waiter (let's call him "Dunning Kuger") is very personable and charming, but he is so slow and ignores all other guests while taking care of one group at glacial speed. So about 30 people are waiting patiently to be served, and can't get any of the staff to take any interest.
The previous time I went, it took 20 minutes just to pay my bill. So this time I asked to "pay as I go". Dunning Kuger told me that was impossible. I would have to wait. I complained to him about the slow service and he simply invited me to go elsewhere.
It is such a shame that such a lovely place allows such terrible service. For contrast, we have also been to the bars: "The Blizzard", "Avancher" and "Savoyard" where the service has always been impeccable.

British Tourist - The beds in this hotel are mostly singles pushed together (unusual for a brit). The beds are very comfortable. The hotel feels luxurious, with slippers and robes etc. There is a ski shop inside the hotel which is extremely helpful, and good stuff too. Breakfast is average, exactly what you expect, it lacks a luxurious touch. The shower bath combo was complicated and soaked the floor (hence the 4*).

Nous sommes actuellement en séjour dans cet hôtel avec notre fille de 3 ans et l'expérience continue d'être exceptionnelle. La chambre est toujours impeccable, le personnel demeure aux petits soins, et le cocktail au bar reste un véritable délice. Une expérience inoubliable que nous recommandons vivement !

La chambre, le service et l’emplacement était de grande qualité super Hotel manager, super gentil et le personnel super agréable tous petits soins. Je recommande vraiment cet hôtel.

Un grand merci à l’ensemble de l’équipe pour leur bienveillance et le professionnalisme lors de notre séjour express que l’on a volontiers prolongé tant on s’y sentait bien.

Je tiens à mettre un point d’honneur sur la politesse et la gentillesse de tous les membres de l’équipe de le réception, en passant par le ski shop, au spa jusqu’au petit dej.

Super expérience! Les chambres sont justes magnifiques et très confortables. Le petit déjeuner copieux avec du personnel aux petits soins. Le coin piscine génial, pour se détendre après le ski. Côté bar, super aussi, on peut se restaurer aussi s’il n’y a plus de place au restaurant. Et encore une fois le personnel a été parfait. Un sans faute, je recommande!

Je suis venu au spa pour un soin complet qui a été de très bonne qualité. Le personnel est souriant, attentionné et discret, et les massages, scrubbing etc. sont extrêmement bien faits, dans des salles tamisées et douces. Il y a aussi trois saunas à températures différentes, jusqu'à 90°C (93° ce soir-là), ce qui est rare et très appréciable, ainsi qu'une petite piscine pas trop chaude. L'espace est assez étroit par rapport à d'autres spas mais il est bien utilisé et la qualité des prestations compense largement.

Une belle expérience ! Le plus appréciable : un personnel vraiment très accueillant, que ce soit à l'accueil ou au restaurant. Les chambres sont spacieuses, bien équipées, et les lits confortables. Le spa est top. Je recommande vivement !

24heures à Val d'Isère et une très belle nuit dans un cadre prestigieux. Le personnel est chaleureux et attentionné. Notre chambre était splendide et nous avons aussi profité du spa très agréable. Buffet du petit déjeuner parfait.

As soon as we entered our room, we were pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of champagne awaiting us, a delightful gesture to celebrate our special occasion. The room itself was stunning, exuding elegance and comfort. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a day on the slopes.

Our dining experience at the hotel's restaurant was nothing short of extraordinary. The culinary creations were simply exquisite, leaving our taste buds dancing with delight. To add to the already memorable evening, the staff surprised us with a cheeky glass of champagne to celebrate our one-week anniversary. It was a thoughtful touch that made us feel even more cherished.

The Avenue Lodge also deserves praise for their choice of bath products. The l'otticane bath products provided in our room were luxurious and indulgent, adding to the overall pampering experience at the hotel.

One aspect that truly stood out during our stay was the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. They made us feel special and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort throughout our stay. It was evident that they genuinely cared about making our time at The Avenue Lodge unforgettable.

All in all, I couldn't find a single fault with our stay at The Avenue Lodge. The beautiful surroundings, attention to detail, incredible dining experience, and the exceptional service provided by the staff made our honeymoon truly magical. We are already planning our return visit, as we cannot wait to create more cherished memories at this remarkable hotel.

Good overall, generous portions and reasonable prices. Waiters clearly understaffed which was for me the lowlight, we would have almost wanted a distress flare to get their attention sometimes.

How refreshing to find somewhere unpretentious yet excellent in Val d'Isere! Our fantastic waiter was delightful and spent time setting up and explaining hand-made puzzle games that kept us all occupied before the food arrived, even the hungriest of children! These were demonstrated with a grin, patience and kindness. Good varied menu with local specialties, all of which were delicious and very satisfying. Warm atmosphere, great acoustics meant everyone could chat without shouting. Simple but fabulous wine list. Highly recommended!

C’est délicieux la terrine de foies de volaille maison que j’ai mangée au Bistrot de l’Avenue Logde. A tester !
