It was very central and the staff were so pleasant and helpful. |However the hotel and our stay, was not what we expected from the booking.com photos and descriptions. |We paid for a “Prestige King Room” but it was hardly that. Tea/Coffee making facilities were one teapot and two herbal tea bags. They were never replaced during our 4 night stay.|There was no minibar either, just a small fridge with water and no milk. |Our bedroom was a decent size, but dark, and the bathroom was directly off the bedroom, separated by one big step up into it. The hand held shower over the bath meant we had to use it very carefully to avoid water running down the wall and onto the floor.|The breakfasts were not good. Probably the worst we’ve ever experienced in years of travel. The only hot dish was scrambled eggs which were lukewarm every day. There was a small assortment of cold meats but plenty of sweet cakes. My husband wanted tea and was given a teapot of hot water and told to get the tea leaves himself out of a canister. The cappuccino was undrinkable. All in all, pretty poor show!

Quand on va me dire « un petit hôtel trop mignon » je vais penser à celui-ci, un beau mobilier, une belle déco et une belle ambiance feutrée très agréable. Le personnel est au top, de très belles chambres, un beau bâtiment très bien situé, et un vrai buffet de petit déjeuner.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Bayard in Room #4 for 2 nights. The room was very large with two huge windows that opened on to the park across the street. There was a large shower and a lovely clawfoot soaking tub in the bathroom. The design of the room was very chic and very French. The hotel breakfast was the best we had during our 2 week stay in many hotels in France. You could tell is was lovingly prepared. There were so many options and we were offered cappuccino coffees as well. the location of this hotel is perfect. Across the street from the hotel is Bellecour Park where there is an office of Tourism. There is also a metrostop in the park and it is a hub for many different bus lines. There is lots of shopping and restuarant's also well within walking distance. The hotel is almost like a Speakeasy in the sense that there is only a blue door with the name of the hotel on it to greet you on the street. Once you open the door, you'll follow a hallway to another door where you'll ring a bell and will be buzzed in. Please know that there is a stairwell up to the first floor so you will have to carry your bags up one flight. After that there is an elevator. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful. We highly recommend this hotel for a truly French experience in Lyon.
Quelques remarques toutefois : les tenues quelque peu "négligées" selon moi du personnel de réception... C'est dommage.
La tenue "réglementaire" aurait été un minimum à défaut d'une tenue d'époque pour pousser le soucis du détail jusqu'au bout.
Manquait des chaussons et un porte serviette à côté du lavabo.
Un grand bravo pour le travail de précision sur la décoration et le soucis du détail de ce point de vue dans l'ensemble de l'hôtel ainsi que pour l'originalité du petit déjeuner très bon et copieux. Toutefois, j'aurais apprécié que les jus de fruits soient pressés.
Le personnel a été aux petits soins et très à l'écoute.
Je reviendrai sans aucun doute très bientôt.
