BE CAREFUL! UNSAFE HOTEL! |We stayed at the Imperial Palace this past week and this hotel's keycard locks are faulty and often fail. Which leaves the ROOM UNLOCKED and able to be entered at ANY TIME of the day/night by ANYONE in the hotel. We had our room's lock "reprogrammed" several times and it always failed to remained locked. We spent our first night sleeping in an unlocked room, and anyone could have entered our room at any time and done anything to us while sleeping. A hotel has one most important job: to provide a safe space to dwell and sleep. This was completely unsafe and unsatisfactory for the cost of this hotel. ||After numerous attempts to fix the problem with the door locking mechanism -- and always failing -- we found our room once again unlocked at 10:30pm when returning from dinner the second night of our stay. And when we again brought the issue up with reception, the reception manager that night met our worries with condescension (insulting my wife), a complete lack of understanding about how his own hotel's keycard readers work (claiming it was impossible the door could remain unlocked) , and no apology or understanding about the DANGER of the situation. ||So after our evening was ruined and the joy of our meal (at Vincent Favre Felix - which is amazing!) was squandered, the manager said all they could do was move us to another room. So at 10:50pm my wife and I had to move all of our belongs ourselves down the hall piece by piece. The manager offered no help or apology. The next morning, we saw the hotel mechanics replacing the entire door keycard system.||This is an UNSAFE HOTEL and the reception manager we dealt with is lacking in every single way possible. I recommend you spend your money at any of the other hotels in Annecy. On the plus side: the Spa, Restaurant and Concierge services were very good and hosted by nice people. But we still will not be returning any time soon.

The hotel restaurant offers a gourmet dining experience, with high-end prices to match. However, I didn’t find the food particularly exceptional for the price point. That said, it was still an enjoyable experience, overall the lamb was definitely the standout dish.
