LE PALACE DE MENTHON ^{* * * * *}

Nous avons dîné le samedi 2 Août au soir , au restaurant du Palace de Menthon. Tout était parfait : service, plats, vue sur la fête du lac.

Le matin même, nous avons demandé à la réception un contact pour organiser notre retour en taxi. Ils nous ont orientés vers une compagnie à qui nous avons envoyé un message. Un dénommé Arthur, nous à répondu au bout de 5 heures, ce qui a créé un certain stress chez ma compagne.
À 23h30 (l’heure convenue, aucun soucis sur ce point), une voiture avec un chauffeur en sweat à capuche est arrivée. La voiture n’était pas très propre, la conduite assez brusque, et il était impossible de payer par carte : nous avons dû installer une application pour faire un virement au chauffeur !

Nous avons signalé tout cela à l’hôtel par téléphone le lendemain matin. C’est dommage de terminer une si belle soirée sur une note aussi décevante.

We truly loved our stay at this hotel — the overall experience was wonderful, and the setting is absolutely magical, especially the beach, which we found to be one of the highlights of our trip.

That said, there are a few points that kept us from giving a higher rating:
• bike rental flexibility : Renting bikes is a fantastic option in this area and a great idea for guests. However, we found it quite inflexible that rentals were only offered by the hour, with no option for a 30-minute rate — especially when the hotel wasn’t at full capacity. We simply wanted a short, romantic ride, and an hour felt a bit much, particularly at the full-hour rate.
• « beach food » : While we loved spending time at the beach, the food options available there could really be improved. We were surprised to see no light or classic snack choices (like a club sandwich, for example), which are typically offered at other similar settings. A more thoughtful beachside snack menu would enhance the experience greatly.
• Room size and breakfast: Our room for our short two-night stay, was quite small and located under the roof, which might not be ideal for longer stays. As for breakfast i think its the part I usually look forward to most, but I thought it was extremely basic for the level of this hotel

Despite these few drawbacks, everything else was great. The ambiance, the charm of the property, and the overall feel of the hotel made it a memorable stay. With just a bit more attention to detail, this could be an exceptional five-star experience

Every staff member went above and beyond, ensuring our needs were met with genuine care and a smile.
The amenities were top-notch, with the indoor pool and spa offering pure relaxation, and the gourmet dining at Le Viù was a highlight, with exquisite dishes showcasing local flavors. The private beach and marina added a unique charm, perfect for leisurely strolls or a dip in the lake. For anyone seeking a quiet, beautiful haven with unparalleled service, Le Palace de Menthon is an unforgettable destination that I can’t recommend highly enough

Hôtel magnifique au bord du lac. En revanche, le service est très variable, rien de grave mais je ne l’ai pas trouvé à la hauteur du niveau d exigence d’un palace.
