I had a lovely stay at this quaint Chalet. I stayed for 2 nights before I began the TMB. Our room was mountain facing and to say the views were extraordinary is understatement. We were welcomed our first night with the most beautiful double rainbow I've ever seen (I understand this isn't a reflection of the hotel but still speaks to the vastness of the views!). The room was clean and our bed was comfortable. I slept very well both nights and found the room very quiet. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was good and they had plenty of options (including for me as a vegetarian). I was able to store my bags there while I trekked the TMB which was very convenient. The location is a bit out of the way, but it close to a train stop which is convenient.

This hotel is amazing. The pricing is for a 2 star hotel but quality is far higher! The rooms have charming chalet style design, are EXTREMELY spacious, and deliver stunning views! The hotel has a ton of amenities including group dinners - perfect for TMB hikers - and a full bar that serves generous free tapas per drink order. The staff I’m also convinced are the best in their industry - they are incredibly warm, knowledgeable, and professional.

On the last bit - I witnessed about half a dozen encounters of large hiking groups making multiple changes to their requests and the staff here handled every single case with 500% patience and big smiles.

The only potential downside of this hotel is it’s a 20 minute walk to Les Houches town center - this materializes as a real tradeoff if you need quick access to the pharmacy. That said the walk is very pleasant!

I’d definitely stay here again. Strongly recommend!

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING

The photos on the booking platforms are fake.
We were extremely disappointed with our stay and the service. In reality, this is a very, very old hotel with serious cleanliness issues — black mold, warped laminate floors, damaged and dirty walls, and even a dead bug on the wall that had clearly been there for months, if not years.

We booked through Booking.com and will continue to file a complaint with them, but I decided to leave a review here as well to warn future guests.

The problems started from the very beginning.
The website stated check-in at 4 PM. We arrived tired from the road, only to find out that our pre-booked room was not ready. (Keep in mind that their check-out time is 10 AM, so they had six full hours to clean it — and failed!) Shameful.

We waited for 20 minutes and began to lose our patience — after all, when you’re paying €500 for two nights, your expectations are quite different.
A blonde receptionist offered us drinks — at our own expense — while we waited. So they failed to clean the room in 6 hours and still expected us to pay for our drinks? Outrageous. Clearly, customer service is not a priority here.

After almost 40 minutes of waiting, we finally received a key — only to find out the room was nothing like the photos and, even worse, it hadn’t been cleaned. Trash from the previous guests was still there. So we had waited for cleaning that hadn’t even happened.

Eventually, we were given another room (by now, it was almost 5 PM — nearly an hour delay!). This time, the layout was somewhat similar to the photos, but the condition was absolutely unacceptable:
mold, dirty walls, food crumbs on the table and chairs, a dead bug on the wall, and thick layers of dust in the corners.

I went downstairs to report this, but the receptionist said that this was “normal” and there were no better rooms available. She promised to speak with the manager and offer us a discount. That also turned out to be a lie.

At checkout, they had the audacity to charge us for the drinks (€13), despite promising a discount. It became clear that the receptionist hadn’t informed the management about the mold or any of the issues. We had to waste more of our time and energy showing photos and explaining the obvious — that there should not be mold and dirt in a €250-a-night room.

In the end, they gave us a miserable discount.
I strongly advise against staying at this hotel.
Black mold is a serious health hazard and should never be present in any living space, let alone one that charges premium prices.

Amazing hotel! We booked this last minute before starting the TMB and were blown away. The lady at the front desk was so kind and let us practice our French, and when we told her we hadn’t eaten all day, she made sure we had an early dinner spot and even gave us a room with a Mountain view, even thought we hadn’t booked it. The dinner was amazing and the wait staff very friendly. Room was cute and very nice!! Highly recommend

Hotel con posizione panoramica sur les Houches e il massiccio del monte bianco. Personale gentile e disponibile in particolare la ragazza del ricevimento;Ségolène molto brava.
Unica cosa secondo me serve più cura e pulizia nelle aree esterne e al ingresso del hotel.

Excellent lieu pour un séminaire ou un point de départ pour des randonnées

A very tired, overpriced hotel. Mold in the shower and toilet room and generally quite run down. In massive need of upgrades. Pretty view of the mountains, but lots of highway noise all night long. They included breakfast on our bill even though we didn’t eat there. We had a small meal in the evening and the food was very mediocre and overpriced. Location fine with a car. Friendly service.

Deux nuits en chambres économiques.
Nous avions une petite terrasse avec vue sur l'aiguille du midi. Par contre, nos amis avaient une chambre avec velux ????. La réceptionniste a pris le temps de nous donner des indications, restaurants, petit train etc. Le personnel est très sympathique. Le dîner très bien cuisiné.

Le point fort de cet hôtel est la gentillesse du personnel, c'est très appréciable. Les espaces communs sont très beaux, tout comme l'emplacement en pleine forêt et la vue sur le Mont Blanc si vous avez la chance d'être de ce côté.
Les repas au restaurant le soir sont délicieux, toutefois à mes yeux ils sont un peu légers niveau quantité quand on revient d'une bonne journée de randonnée. De même, le buffet du petit déjeuner est très bon mais il manque un peu de diversité, et l'ouverture à 7h30 me semble un peu tardive lorsqu'on part là encore en randonnée.
Enfin, les chambres mériteraient d'être rénovées, elles sont un peu "vieillottes" et manquent d'entretien général, bien que propres et la literie confortable.

Un accueil formidable. 2 nuits prises à la dernière minute et on ne regrette vraiment pas. Le personnel est adorable, la vue superbe. Cerise sur le gâteau, le restaurant est très bon. Merci beaucoup

Nice and relaxed hotel with superb view of Midi, Tacul, Maudit and Mont Blanc.||Staff was very friendly - had booked 3 nights but happily extended for 4 more nights when our plans changed.||Highly recommended if the more expensive, downtown Chamonix options are not what you are looking for.we had a car and parking was never a problem.||Train station very close if you do not travel by car.||Kjartan

We stayed 3 nights at this establishment in total - one before our TMB hike and two afterwards. We were ‘upsold’ a balcony room on our first night and had no regrets as the view was lovely. On that occasion the owner was friendly (though somewhat stressed). Our return from the TMB 11 days later was a different story. We had completed a very long hiking day and my husband went to check in and buy us some much needed cold drinks. He seemed quite shaken on his return and informed me that the hotel owner had been very sharp and dismissive with him regarding his request for food. We decided not to eat at the hotel at all over the next 36 hours and took our custom (and money) elsewhere. It’s worth stating that other staff we encountered were as friendly and helpful as one would expect at a hotel. Having stayed in a number of refuges on the trail, I feel that ‘Campanules’ sits uncomfortably between refuge and hotel. Basic toiletries and a hairdryer are provided but towels are an optional extra! The menu is limited (which is no problem) but unlike a refuge there is no guarantee that you will be fed. |I’m not given to writing negative reviews but we would not choose to return in this instance.

Votre sens de l' accueil et votre immense délicatesse pour vos hôtes nous ont ravis. Une adresse à partager et à retenir absolument !!

Nous nous y sommes rendus pour une nuit.
Le cadre extérieur est parfait, en pleine nature (côté forêt ou côté montagne ) avec un petit ruisseau qui passe à proximité.
Accueil chaleureux !
Deco intérieure cocooning et faite avec goût.
Ascenseur en panne mais bon 3 étages à pied ça se fait on n est pas fainéant lol
Arrivée dans le couloir pas de lumière !
La chambre est petite mais plutôt propre.
Les rideaux aux fenêtres mériteraient d être réparés et les WC plus propres ( taches de selles au mur ...blanc! Pas terrible).
Sdb petite mais fonctionnelle.
Literie super ! Aussi bien lit adulte que ceux des enfants.
Petit déjeuner un peu cher, plus de 16 euros ! Même si à volonté ça ne les vaut pas.
Par contre très belle vue face au mont blanc au lever, c'est magnifique.
Je vous recommande cet hôtel !

Chouette hotel, accueil et service au top, le restaurant propose une très bonne cuisine et les petits déjeuner sont très variés.
La vue dans la chambre 316 est simplement sublime.
Cet hotel aurait besoin d'un petit rafraîchissement par endroit mais globalement c'est très beau. Salle de bain propre et literie au top. Merci encore pour l’accueil et votre gentillesse.

Room: had a forrest facing one. It was very cold, and there was no heat. Bathroom is totally open, not even the toilet is fully closed. Very outdated and moldy.
Service: good service at the reception and bar. Not so good at the restaurant.
Location: very nice view of Mont Blanc, very quiet. Pretty far for other eating facilities if you want to walk.
Food and drinks: ok-ish, but kinda overpriced

Idéalement placé avec la vue sur le mont Blanc en ouvrant la fenêtre du balcon.
L'accueil extrêmement sympathique et chaleureux.

Vue à couper le souffle sur le Massif du Mont Blanc et accueil très chaleureux (comme à la maison !) sont au rv de cet hôtel où tout est fait pour que vous vous sentiez à l'aise. Restauration excellente aussi et petit déjeuner copieux. Je recommande vivement donc !

Super soirée d anniversaire avec un accueil chaleureux personnel au petit soin repas excellent et chambre avec vue exceptionnelle bref on a passé un week-end magique dans cet endroit merveilleux.

Hotel offrant des services et des prestations qualitatives.
Le personnel est au petit soin pour chacun des voyageurs.
Les chambres sont impeccables (literie, salle d'eau) - les draps et linges de maison sont de bonne qualité.

Chalet avec une ambiance chaleureuse et familiale, un personnel très souriant, sympathique et professionnel. Coco et Vincent vous accueillent avec le sourire et vous conseillent très bien durant tout le séjour sur les restaurants, activités, randonnées et pistes de ski à faire à proximité en fonction de la météo. Notre chambre au 5ieme étage était très propre et confortable, elle donnait sur la chaîne de montagne du mont blanc et l'aiguille du midi, une super vue !
La salle de sport avec le spa est très bien, elle dispose d'une vue imprenable avec ses grandes baies vitrées, un cadre très agréable en perspective.
Le service de restauration est également de très bonne qualité.

Very poor customer service! BE AWARE !!!!!

Booked the hotel one week prior, the next day one of the family members got very sick so we had to cancel the trip. Upon calling the hotel they gave us a very brutal "NO", even if it's 6 days prior to the booking date.

We stayed in the hotel as a big group. We celebrated Christmas eve there and all though it was a one night stay. We felt the warmth of the people working in tte Hotel. Very accommodating. One of the best people, they smile and we really did enjoy our stay. We will definitely gonna go back!
