Although this hotel looks stunning and the service seems top level. The experience does not match the look or the price tag. |The gardens are stunning and something to see. Having three pools is also exceptional. |But the room was not better the a basic standard room in a mid range city hotel. There was no milk in the fridge or on the coffee tray. 2 pods for coffee they were never refilled. The fridge had two bottles of water and barely cold. The AC did work properly sir the room was warm most of the time. I had informed the front seat and they said they would look at it. They did not. |I asked if they could put some milk in the room and they told me to call rooms service at 6am. |The gym wasn’t open until 7am. Which is quite late. Any hotel generally has 24hr access to a gym or key card access. I will use a gym around 6 before breakfast. |The pool was nice. And the bartender for the pool definitely tried. But I was rather put back when He asked me for a tip. Whilst forgetting half my order. |The thing is. I have paid half the amount for other boutique hotels on this trip and received extremely better service. Drinks on arrival. Well equipped rooms and stunning designs. Nothing about Pigonnet says it should be $500+ euros a night. Let’s face it you pay for the Michelin stared restaurant. So overall you’re paying double for a nice garden. I also let them know it’s was my partner’s birthday holiday after they asked if there was any special requests and they did nothing. |And the phone don’t work in the room on arrival, I had to fix that to. After the turned the room over they didn’t remove any rubbish. Which I thought was very strange. ||At the end of the day there is little point paying the high end price for this hotel. You are not getting anything more for your money. The experience does match the tag. Go for boutique hotels that want to leave N impression with you.

2 stars are just for the nice garden and location, the rest isn’t worth the money. We, 2 adults & 2 kids, stayed in garden suite and paid 900€ per night.
1) First day, during check-in, we were informed that the garden door was broken, can’t be locked. No safe box in the room cos the hotel was “safe”. The water would be free even if we order more but then when we came back to the room in the night, we were told that it was with charges, however, the water bottles kept being delivered into the wrong room.
2) day 2, we saw that the phone said “room 43” but we were in room 42, we informed them but it stayed like that till we checked out. Staff at breakfast kept bringing wrong food. Laundry for kids are the same price as adults which was ridiculous. We have been in many 5 stars hotels which charge 20-50% less for kid items. This is the first hotel we got charged full for kid clothing, however, we sent about 20 of kids cloth to wash anyway cos we were on road trip before arrived in this hotel, they all came back damp! We had to hang them around the room, we didn’t complain. Moreover, we asked the staff to check if the farm close by was open and if we had to book a pony in advance if my kid needed to ride on. They said “it was too late yesterday and too early to call today but I checked the website, it should be fine. No booking in advance for pony ride” so we drove there but there was no pony in the farm at all..
3) day 3, we requested for a laundry again but it was Sunday so the external place they sent to was close but the hotel offered to wash for us instead. Thanks to the hotel for that, this time the clothes came back fine. In the night, there was a staff knocked on the doors few times at 10 pm while the kids were sleeping. Again, the phone was probably switched, the other room ordered some pepper or salt from the bar but it was delivered to our room. We informed the front desk again and the staff said “it’s technical problem. We know it’s you” well, the bar staff clearly didn’t know.
4) day 4, we requested laundry service again, full price for kid items (for example, 10€ to wash a pants for my 1.5 year old). They items came back the next day cos “it was too late last night, we didn’t want to bother you.” which was good but the morning that we received and about to check out, we found out that the clothes came back damp again and we would be on the road trip again, no time to hang them. This time we complained, they just said they would check with the external laundry place they sent.
My husband forgot Pyjamas pants there, we got notified by external service for lost&found. I registered and waited for 1-2 weeks but no update on it. I had to call the hotel again and they had to recheck with house keeper, was told that the parcel was ready but was waiting to be picked up. However, the parcel was delivered very quick after the call. (30€ for the shipment+service charge).
Well, never again. Too exhausted to deal with this hotel service everyday when we were supposed to be on holiday. Kids love the garden tho and the location was ok, walking distance to the old town, therefore, 2 stars.
