Had a very lovely meal at this restaurant on 17/7. Fantastic food, large portions, great service and very welcoming as we had not booked in advance.

Bon accueil, le service est rapide,le personnel est agréable et efficace,les assiettes sont copieuses et bien présentés,les tables sont bien réparties pour ce sentir alaise ,les prix sont correct,bref je recommande ce restaurant.

Un super restaurant qui accueille les familles avec bon humeur.
La cuisine y est excellente et il y a même plusieurs formules pour les enfants avec des proportions adaptées!
On y a été très bien reçus et nous avons très bien mangé!

Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Hype

After a long drive, we decided to stop at this restaurant since it was nearby our place and we were hungry and didnt want to drive to another town. We were seated immediately at a table for two, which we appreciated.

A gentleman provided a QR code for the English menu, but unfortunately, it was not actually in English—only the headings were. I had to use Google Translate to understand what the meals contained.

Things went downhill from there:

A waiter accidentally spilled apple juice all over me, my glasses, and my phone. No one came to help; I had to clean the sticky mess from the chair and floor myself before going to wash up in the toilet. He did say sorry though.

My wine was forgotten and only brought after we asked again.

My mother asked the lady (possibly the manager) for help with the menu and got a rude response. When my mother explained she didn’t understand French and was just asking for a recommendation, the lady replied condescendingly, questioning what her mother tongue was and if she doesn't understand English though the menu was still in French. It felt very belittling—especially considering both me and my mother speaking multiple languages.

By this point, we just wanted to eat something quickly and leave. The food was average; my salmon was raw inside. I only ate the cooked parts. When the lady later asked if everything was okay after our bill was also forgotten and had to go to the bar and pay, my mother mentioned the undercooked salmon, and instead of taking it constructively, the lady told us we should have told the chef if we wanted it cooked—completely dismissing our concern.

The overall impression was that guests like us were not welcome. The place was busy, probably popular with locals, but our experience was far from welcoming. Given the high prices and lack of customer care, it’s definitely not worth it. We’ve since spoken to others staying nearby who shared similar views: they also found the place unfriendly and overpriced.

In the end, it felt like the restaurant accomplished their mission—we will not return, and we absolutely would not recommend it. It might be time for this establishment to rethink its attitude toward guests including foreign guests.

Situé à quelques pas de la digue de Sangatte, pour nous, ce restaurant est un des meilleurs si pas le meilleur du coin. Les plats sont généreux, de bonne qualité, le service est sans chichis, mais efficace, on s'y sans bien, les chiens sont également acceptés.6200maes

Nous sommes arrivés à deux, à 19h, dans un restaurant quasiment vide, sans réservation. Il restait de nombreuses tables libres, le service se termine à 20h45, mais on nous a tout de même refusé l’entrée, sans explication crédible. Le personnel nous a vus arriver et a envoyé quelqu’un nous dire que ce n’était pas possible, avec un sourire forcé.
Nous venions de Paris pour découvrir Calais, et c’est le souvenir amer que nous garderons de ce passage. Une impression de sélection en fonction de la couleur de peau à l’entrée qui laisse un goût très amer.

Eine glatte 10. Das Essen, wir hatten ein Drei-Gänge-Menü, super schmackhaft, abwechslungsreich, hübsch dekoriert und in einer Menge, die nicht zu bewältigen war. Großes Lob an die Küche und die freundliche Bedienung!

Nous avons trouvé l’adresse par hasard, et nous avons été super contentes de ce restaurant. La cuisine est de qualité, généreuse mais aussi très bien présentée. Le service est également très agréable. Les prix sont abordables avec un menu bien complet (je vous conseille de ne pas déjeuner ????). Je recommande donc fortement.

malheureusement nous avions pris un menu amiral et lors du dessert alors que nous avions plus faim nous avons demandé un calvados à la place du dessert.
Cette demande nous a été refusé Platement.
M'obligeant donc apprendre un calvados payant en plus d'un dessert que je n'ai pas mangé pour pouvoir accompagner ma compagne.
Je ne Comprends toujours pas la démarche alors que le calvados était À sept euros et que la crème brûlée Était à sept cinquante

C'est la 1re fois Que nous voyons ce genre d'attitude qui nous Fortement choqué je ne recommanderai donc pas ce Restaurant Et je n'y retournerai pas non plus

Das Essen ist einfach fantastisch. Eine gute Fischsuppe, die besten Muscheln unseres Lebens mit viel leckerer Creme und eine sensationelle Scholle. Austern so lecker dass man nicht aufhören kann. Das Personal ist extrem professionell und sehr freundlich. Alles ist sehr sauber. Es gibt eine große Auswahl an Weinen. Einzig das Ambiente ist ein bisschen langweilig, die Tische sind klein und die Stühle sind nur mittelmäßig.
Trotzdem eine Top Empfehlung! ???? ???? ♥️
