Un hotel qui merite 5 etoiles et le personnel 6. J y descend souvent pour le travail, toujours au top et le restaurant aussi.

Lovely hotel with great staff, serving great food. Dog friendly. Rooms are excellent. Would stay again.

We first visited La Maison Rouge in January 2010 when we came across it by accident searching for a place to stop as it was getting late and a blizzard was raging. We loved it then and we were delighted to find it largely unchanged on our latest visit this January. |The hotel is about an hour’s drive from the Calais Eurotunnel so makes for an ideal stop over on a relaxed journey down through France to the Alps. It’s 10 minutes off the motorway and the hotel has ample parking and a welcoming ambience. |The rooms are large with a dressing area, well fitted-out bathroom with double sinks and a separate toilet. The kingsize double bed was very comfortable and we both had the best night’s sleep we’ve had in a long while. |One of the best things about staying here is the restaurant, Le Cercle. It is superb. Linen tablecloths and chandeliers await you, as does attentive service and delicious food. The menu is a little limited and I suspect it changes regularly but it seems there are some staple ingredients. We’ve had scallops in one form or another every time we’ve stayed here over the years, and they are always delicious. Seafood features strongly on the menu and there’s usually a cut of beef on offer too. On this visit, Nick had scallops to start with and I had a vegetable soup with a poached egg nestled on the top. The starters were delicious. For main course, Nick had lamb which was perfectly cooked to medium with just a little pink showing accompanied by potato noisettes. I had sole meunière which was de-boned at the table, served with butter sauce and accompanied by mashed potato. It was fabulous. |There is an excellent wine list. I’m pleased to report that the house cocktail, which we first sampled many years ago, remains a champagne and grand marnier creation. We each then had just a glass of wine with our main courses. The desserts looked amazing but we both opted for the cheese. Very generous portions were served and I have to admit, I struggled to eat it all (but I forced myself!)|The only reason I haven’t given this 5/5 is that the bar area where we sat before dinner was rather cold. It’s definitely closer to a 5 than a 4. Also, the prices are a little steep, but you get what you pay for and I don’t mind paying when the service and quality is this good. We spent €149 on the room and €179 on dinner. |Highly recommended.

un endroit sublime avec des chambres spacieuses, très bien équipées et très propres. Un magnifique cadre avec une décoration de très bon goût . Un petit déjeuner très copieux dans un super endroit . Une cuisine top qualité, raffinée et gastronomique. Un personnel charmant et très avenant
