Superb little museum with a nice collection of exhibits going back to the Paleolithic. Undoubtely though the star attraction is the Treasure of Eauze. Discovered during an archaeological dig in 1985 it is an astonishing collection of 28000 coins, jewelery and precious objects hidden in sacks weighing 120kg. One can but marvel and wonder what the story was, how this enormous treasure came to be buried and forgotten. Perhaps it was stolen, but the thief died in a tavern. Perhaps it was buried by a rich family fleeing for their lives. Maybe a miser collected it but his will was lost.

Nous avions pris le pass des trois site et nous n'avons pas regretté après avoir visité la villa seviac , c'était un passage obligé pour comprendre mieux les visites précédentes

Le musée du trésor est incroyable. Fabuleux de voir ce trésor romain dans cet état exceptionnel. Visite guidée très intéressante où on apprend beaucoup de choses. A faire absolument dans le coin avec les 2 autres sites associés.
