LA MAISON ROUSSEAU

We had such a lovely time at La Maison Rousseau. Matt was gracious about our poor timing with check-in and was full of excellent recommendations and advice. The house is…stunning. What a warm, unique and cozy place to come back to after a day wandering around Nimes. Don’t skip breakfast! (Like we did on our last morning, as jetlag and the extremely comfy bed had us sleeping right through our alarm!)||Be sure you give lots of love and pets to Shalom the cat and Huguette the pug, the best furry hosts we’ve encountered yet. It’s a home full of love and history and you can really tell. Thank you for the great stay!

Un endroit magnifique, une décoration d’exception chinée aux quatre coin du monde. Un accueil aimable par mathieu. Je vous recommande très fortement cet établissement.

Lui seul devrait être la raison pour laquelle vous restez. ||||Petit-déjeuner - WOW, comme il réalise des bénéfices avec la tartinade qu'il propose, c'est de loin le meilleur petit-déjeuner que nous ayons pris. |||| Enregistrez-vous - c'est ici que les choses se compliquent, les heures d'enregistrement vous sont indiquées lors de la réservation, mais il n'y a pas de réception, la porte est verrouillée et c'est un système de sonnerie - bien, si vous obtenez une réponse, cela n'arrive pas toujours, donc cela peut être un problème. c'est un peu angoissant d'attendre dehors. |||| Dans l'ensemble, je le recommanderais, mais l'enregistrement n'est pas comme d'habitude et si vous avez eu une longue journée, ce n'est peut-être pas ce dont vous avez besoin.

Well this is a tricky review, ||||Location - Not ideal, access off a busy road down the side of a Dominoes pizza - never felt unsafe but I feel it had the potential.||||Room - Rooms were comfortable & clean also very nice ho have a bath rather than shower. the décor was a bit of an assault on the senses from the stuffed parrot in the WC to the vintage oil paintings & up-cycled furniture but it works , if you've ever been to a emaus then it's like sleeping in one - wonderfully eccentric & french||||Host - Matt was a very welcoming host & very much the reason that I'm reluctant to criticize. He recommend restaurant always greeted you with a big smile. He alone should be the reason you stay.||||Breakfast - WOW how he makes any profit with the spread he provides, it's by far the best breakfast we've had anywhere.||||Check in - now this is where things get tricky, you're given the check in times at booking however there isn't a reception , the door is locked & it's a buzzer system - fine, if you get an answer, that doesn't always happen so can be a bit of a nerve wracking wait outside.||||Overall I'd recommend but the check in isn't the usual & if youve had a long day then perhaps not what you need
