Superb medieval castle witness to the Hundred Years' War, was taken twice by the French, including Bertrand du Guesclin in 1377. Classified in 1862 as a Historic Monument, it was only reborn in people's minds in the 1970s when the commune, owner since 1900, and a few enthusiasts undertook restoration work. After climbing the 31 meters of the keep, you can admire the palm tree vault of its tower of honor.

Sans forcément visiter l'intérieur ( surtout s'il est fermé !), le tour via les douves offre un bel aperçu du château.
Très bien mis en valeur et entretenu.

A semi-restored castle near to Saint Emilion. Good information about the castle's history, past occupants and various expansions and restorations over the years. Staff were friendly and helpful, and provided an English guide sheet to read as we walked around. Two towers that can be climbed for expansive views of the picturesque surroundings.

Excellent castle. You can go up the Towers and in all the rooms. Staff are really helpful and tell you how to go around. There's an audio and written guide. Lovely view from the Tower.
