Après avoir passé la journée sur la route du Médoc, nous pouvons vraiment dire que c’est le plus beau châteaux que nous ayons visité. L’extérieur est vraiment sublime, et l’intérieur est moderne et confortable. C’était également la visite la plus intéressante, avec notre guide Clémentine, passionnante et adorable. Cerise sur le gâteau, les vins sont également très bons.

Château Pichon Baron Wine Tasting — Pauillac, Bordeaux

Château Pichon Baron was one of the absolute highlights of my Bordeaux trip — and the very first stop on my journey. I knew I had to visit, no matter what.

For me, this place represents everything iconic about Pauillac:
•It’s one of the most legendary names in the region.
•Classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification — a true mark of prestige and quality.
•Known for wines that are powerful, elegant, and full of character.
•And of course, the château itself is absolutely stunning — picturesque and full of charm.

I have to say upfront: I’m not a wine professional. I just love drinking wine and enjoying the moment. But what I appreciated deeply was how welcoming Pichon Baron is to visitors like me — no pretense, just pure passion and knowledge shared openly.

Our guide was warm, informative, and genuinely enthusiastic, walking us through everything from the vineyards and terroir to the fermentation and aging process. We even got to see bottles dating all the way back to 1881 — truly a walk through wine history.

And then came the tasting. I sampled four wines:
•Les Tourelles de Longueville Pauillac 2018
•Les Griffons de Pichon Baron Pauillac 2018
•Château Pichon Baron 2018
•Château Pichon Baron 2017

Tasting these wines honestly blew my mind. Each glass told a different story, rich with depth and structure. It was my very first “gateway”into the world of Bordeaux, and it left me deeply impressed — even moved. I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction.

I walked away feeling inspired, grateful, and already planning a return. No regrets — only joy.

We were pleasantly surprised to find that the enchanting gardens and surroundings of Château Pichon Baron are open to the public! It made for the most incredible setting for an engagement session, with the château serving as a truly breathtaking backdrop.

The team at the office was super helpful and responsive, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a stunning location for a couple’s shoot, this place is absolutely worth considering!

The wine-tasting experience here is exceptional. We had the pleasure of tasting four remarkable wines, including the beloved Pichon Baron—a personal favorite. The connection we felt to the château now enriches each sip, bringing memories of our visit to life every time we drink this wine. The on-site shop is fantastic as well, with a great selection of wines and gifts. —An unforgettable experience in the heart of Bordeaux wine country.

An outstanding tour of this beautiful winery. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. The facilities are first class, the time in the vineyard so interesting…. And then the wine. Delicious examples of first rate left bank wine. Highly recommend a visit to this outstanding winery.

Beautiful Château that has an historical part and a new and technological production space.
The guide was perfect and wines were great.

C'est un bel endroit. Il est reposant et magnifique. On peut sur rdv déguster des vins après la visite.

Une visite intéressante, raffinée, sans être guindee, même si on dès dans une institution étant un 2eme grand cru classé.

Outstanding tour worth the premium price. This is a very special château with incredible wines, beautiful buildings and comprehensive tour. Our guide was very warm and knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We visited on a weekend in July when the grounds are closed except for booked tours - it is apparently busier on weekdays. Definitely one of the most memorable tours of our trip.
