Just stumbled upon it. I have never seen it before, and happily surprised. There is a real presence to the church itself, I felt transported to the Midieval era and hated to leave.

This has to be the most beautiful church we have visited in a very long time.

The flamboyant Gothic-style coupled with the most beautiful collection of stained glass windows makes it look fabulous. Add in a magnificent selection of beautifully decorated side chapels and you have the opportunity to have your breath taken away.

What makes this all the more surprising it that it was almost devoid of visitors and yet it is directly opposite the Louvre. A magnificent place to while away an hour or so.

L'église Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois fut nommée en l'honneur de l'évêque saint Germain d'Auxerre et se remarque avec son magnifique beffroi situé à côté. Cette église est l'un des plus anciens monuments historiques du centre de Paris qui vaut la peine d'être visité dans le quartier du Louvre.

Absolutely beautiful church near the Seine and Louvre. Would highly recommend, contains some hidden gems of statues and paintings of French saints (Saint Genevieve and Saint Joan of Arc, as well as Sain Therese of Lisieux are some I picked out).

Beautiful and historical structure. The art of curves and carvings is worth visiting. Despite facing state of the art Louvre Museum in Paris... this Catheredal church has its own grace and whoever pass by this for the first time. Must take a photo.
