La Taverne du Belvedere is wonderful. It has delicious, unpretentious meals for all palates. Its wines (from the much-heralded and neighboring La Tourbeille vineyard) are sumptuous and inexpensive. The staff is friendly and efficient. And the views from the large terrace are unsurpassed: high above the surrounding countryside, you can see the full breadth of the Dordogne River and the valley spread out below. We were a party of ten, staying in the region for a week, and we dined at the Taverne on three separate evenings! We were never anything but delighted. Be sure to check this place out! You will love it!

My husband and I loved eating at La Taverne du Belvedere so much that we (and our extended family) ate there three times during our ten visit to the area! The menu offers a number of varied and delicious dishes that are easily shared. I had the gazpacho each time. One night ten of us ordered nearly everything on the menu and every dish was devoured! The waitstaff is friendly and efficient. An additional bonus to eating at La Taverne du Belvedere is that the restaurant (which has outside seating) sits on a hillside overlooking the Dordogne and the surrounding farmlands, providing a beautiful vista during our meals. Our repeated choice of wine came from La Tourbeille winery just up the hill.

It’s rare to find a restaurant where your group can unanimously decide to order the entire menu multiple times but La Taverne is that kind of place! The food is delicious, playful, and very thoughtful. Some of my favorites dishes include the tapicoa, burrata salad, falafel, and the chorizó. Of course the wine and cocktails were fantastic as well. Can’t wait to go back!

The food is delicious and the view divine. La Taverne serves wine from the local La Tourbeille vineyard --amazingly delicious and well suited to the tasty tapas dishes.

Truly a spectacular restaurant—really well run, organized, and executed. A beautiful view accompanies the excellent meal and service. We went back to back nights!
