Leuk en leerzaam bezoek. Interessante inleidende film vonden wij het beste deel want het verteld je het verhaal van de oester. Werden ook leuk ontvangen en ingeleid bij de film. Het was niet druk op deze warme dag in juni.

Highly recommend if you like oysters or want to learn more about them. Very insightful and came away with more appreciation for this ancient food. The people were very nice, and the man was very helpful, and his Spanish was excellent. I hope to return to Arcachon soon.

The museum is fascinating and a 'must do' when visiting the area as it makes sense of the landscape of pine poles in the water, the lime coated tiles and mesh bags that can be seen everywhere.
Our museum visit lasted just over an hour. €6.50pp and a reasonably priced, well stocked shop. Clean toilet inside the museum. We parked for free just up the road (out of main season - April).
The oyster farming process is fully explained, including how the next generation of oyster farmers are trained, sustainability, the history of the process, world wide oyster farming info and everything in between!
If you're concerned that your French isn't good enough please be assured that the curators were exceptional; they set up the intro film in English for us and assured us that all the info boards had translations to English too. The curator took time to chat to us and she was clearly an expert and enthused by the subject answering all of our questions.
There are plenty of places for oysters, drinks and dinner nearby too.

Visite très instructive, pour les petits comme pour les grands. On apprend tout de l'huître, de ses origines à sa reproduction.
On sent que le guide est passionné par ce qu'il fait.
