"Une nuit parfaite au cœur d’Arcachon"
Nous avons passé une nuit au Grand Hôtel Richelieu et avons été ravis de notre séjour. L’accueil a été chaleureux et professionnel dès notre arrivée. La chambre était confortable, propre et bien équipée, avec une très jolie vue. Emplacement idéal, en bord de mer et proche du centre-ville. Un grand merci à toute l’équipe pour cette belle expérience. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir.

Stayed for 2 nights and what a delight. Hotel staff spoke English, french and other languages, they were most welcoming, friendly and could not do enough for us.||The rooms were spotless, we both had balconies with views to the sea, even though we were on the side of the hotel. They had thought of everything, supplies in the bathroom, water in the room each day, beautiful bed linen and very comfy beds - we both slept like logs.||Good choice for breakfast (just how many types of bread are there) plus cakes, cold meats, pastries or a cooked breakfast, yogurts, etc, etc and freshly squeezed orange juice and a choice of teas/coffees.||Perfect location, right on the sea, by the pier, so it was easy to go for a stroll at any time. Shops and restaurants galore right on the doorstep. There is very limited car parking spaces and I would recommend that one was allocated for disabled.||Our 2 night stay was a pure delight and I would recommend them at anytime and look forward to going back again soon.

In Rahmen einer Geschäftstätigkeit buchte ich das Hotel im Juni 2025 für 2 Nächte. Als ich ins Zimmer, welches sich auf der obersten Etage befang, ankam waren es über 30 Grad drin. Es war nicht möglich sich im Zimmer aufzuhalten. Zwei Klimaanlagen, welche im Zimmer voll liefen waren auf +23 Grad eingestellt (bei der Aussentemperatur von +37) und man konnte diese nicht tiefer einstellen. Ich meldete dies bei der Rezeption und wurde mit dem Argument "es wird nachts kühler", abgewiesen. Ich lies nicht nach und wurde von der Unhöflichkeit der Rezeptionistin gezwungen das Hotel zu verlassen und mir ein anderes Hotel zu suchen. Manager des Hotels hat sich, wie auch bei den anderen Kunden, nicht gezeigt bzw. war nicht anwesend. Auf meine schriftliche Reklamation bekam ich eine Antwort, die einem sprachlos macht. Diese habe ich für alle zukünftige Gäste als Beweis angehängt. Die Rückzahlung der Buchung wurde verweigert und ich musste die Rechtsschutz einschalten.||Als Beweis habe ich auch das Video der Klimaanlagen und meines Aufenthaltes im Zimmer gemacht. Dies empfehle ich jeden zu tun, wer in die gleiche Situation landet.

Unfortunately, the hotel is very old and poorly maintained. The room was extremely small, with furniture and fixtures literally falling apart. The air-conditioning unit is outdated and very noisy — I couldn’t sleep because of the constant rattling.
The mattress was old and sagging, and the bed was made with just two thin sheets — no proper duvet. I found a blanket tucked away in the wardrobe, which didn’t feel clean or welcoming.
The bathroom was tiny and extremely outdated, with barely any space to move.
The only positives were the beautiful sea view and the excellent breakfast: freshly squeezed juice, a nice selection of fruits, and eggs prepared any way you like. The young man serving breakfast was absolutely wonderful — always smiling and providing excellent service, which made the mornings a real pleasure.
Sadly, despite the lovely view and kind staff at breakfast, the overall condition of the room makes it hard to recommend this hotel. I would not stay here again.
