Superbe expérience d'une nuit. Je suis venu avec mes enfants de 5 et 8 ans, ils étaient également sous le charme de l'endroit. Une auberge entretenue avec amour par ses propriétaires, dans un cadre reposant. Le petit déjeuner est parfait et penser également à demander un panier pique nique, tellement pratique pour explorer les environs. Petite idée pour les familles, dormir, demander un pique-nique (demander la veille), partir le matin au parc du Thot (ouverture a 9h30 et a 10 min de trajet), réserver les activités qui commence à partir de 10h15 (art pariétal...), finir la visite avec le pique nique préparé par l'auberge (aire de pique-nique sur place).

We discovered the Auberge de Castel Merle on a walking holiday in 2008. We were immediately taken by the beauty and serenity of its setting above the River Vezere. We vowed to return one day which we did in 2011 and enjoyed our stay just as much. Since then we have spent a few days there each year during our travels around France. We find it so relaxing away from the tourist hotspots and we call it “our happy place”. Nevertheless it is still convenient for visiting the popular tourist sites in the region.|Anita and Christopher and now their daughter Amanda are so friendly and helpful in making any arrangements such as dining in the vicinity. After all these years Auberge de Castel Merle still retains its magic and we look forward to our next visit in June this year. It will be like coming home!
