It was perfect for us. We received a warm welcome, made some friends, and watched the swallows at dusk from our private deck eating Fois Gras and drinking the local wine. (Thank you, Valentin!!!) We kayaked, ate, toured prehistoric caves, and Medieval castles. And Josephine Baker’s Chateau was 15 minutes away. A perfect base and we look forward to our return!

I highly recommend a stay at La Villa des Consuls when visiting Sarlat-la-Canéda or the surrounding area & cannot say enough great things about my stay there. The hotel is located in the pedestrian only, historical centre of Sarlat & each room is unique, well appointed & a good value. The continental breakfast features daily fresh, local specialities. But what sets this hotel apart is the manager & its staff. Valentin was gracious & helpful above & beyond what anyone has a right to expect. He contacted a pharmacy for me, offered to help when others I was travelling with ran into problems with their Sarlat accommodations (La Villa des Consuls was already fully booked), helped with confirming flights, etc. As well as making great recommendations for nearby restaurants & activities. This is a truly wonderful & charming hotel to visit!

The accommodation was excellent with all we needed for a perfect short stay . We could self cater which was perfect and we had a wonderful outside seating, dining, sunbathing area as well which was lovely for relaxing in the sun or out. Our room was Richelieu with excellent air conditioning in our bedroom and extremely spacious.We were within a very short walk of the centre with lots of restaurants ,shops and bars all around us . Our hire car could be effortlessly parked just a short walk away from the hot in dedicated secure parking. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and spoke perfect English. We will definitely recommend

La Villa des Consuls is in a perfect location to explore the city of Sarlat. It's just above the main shopping street, so everything is within easy walking distance, yet it is very quiet and private. Although our apartment was somewhat dated, it was very clean and offered everything we needed and wanted at a reasonable price. Communication was excellent via timely texts, as well as great directions for getting to the parking garage. We would definitely stay here again.

Super. Personnel très accueillant, facile pour trouver le lieux. Endroit très bien situé dans la ville. Calme parfait pour se reposer.
