HÔTEL IBIS PERIGUEUX

I have stayed at the Ibis Perigueux a couple of times before and I have always given the hotel top marks. On this occasion however, I was a little disappointed to say the least. My comments were something that I did not want to discuss with the reception staff at checkout in front of other customers. I do appreciate that I should have asked to speak privately but because of the circumstances of my visit, it would not have been the correct thing to do.
On check in, (I have to say that the reception staff were very welcoming, top marks to them) I simply left my bag in the room and went into town. When I returned, I went to the bar to order a coffee. There was no member of staff in attendance but on of the reception staff called for someone to attend. Although I am not totally fluent in French, never in the 13 years I have lived here have I had any problem ordering coffee. This staff member did not understand "Grand Creme, Café Creme, Café Latte, just shrugging his shoulders but did respond to Café au lait. What I actually received in the end was a slightly larger cup with a single expresso, topped up with ice cold milk. Needless to say it was almost undrinkable. At that point I gave up and went to bed as I had a very early appointment in the morning.
In the light next morning, it was obvious that it had not been swept properly, there was rubbish under the counter near the window. In the bathroom, human hairs were stuck to the walls (Strangely, over the top of the door and at the same height along the wall .. I cannot imagine how they got there). When I unfolded two of the towels, long black human hairs were folded inside.
The toilet seat was not fastened properly to the toilet and fell off when I lifted it. One of the hinges was loose to such an extent that it just slipped off.
This is certainly not what I have come to expect of the Ibis chain of hotels. The standard of this hotel has plummeted, in my opinion, since my stay last year.

Accueil, prestation , propreté, tout était parfait.

Cela fait 3 ou 4 fois que nous venons dans cet hôtel très bien situé (à deux pas du centre historique) et aux prix corrects. L'accueil est toujours agréable. La chambre, donnant sur une ruelle calme, était propre, bien qu'un peu petite (comme souvent dans les Ibis). Nous avons signalé 2 problèmes : absence d'eau chaude... résolue en laissant couler le robinet une bonne dizaine de minutes (pas très écolo!) et un téléphone intérieur ne fonctionnant pas (problème non résolu à notre départ, après un séjour de 3 nuits)... Pour finir, nous recommandons particulièrement le restaurant de cet hôtel qui propose une cuisine de qualité et (trop?) copieuse !

IBIS-Hotel mit Ibis-Standard in sehr guter Lage. Zimmer sauber. Parkplatz kostenlos vor dem Haus (sehr gut). Frühstück okay, aber manchmsl hat es gedauert bis leere Platten wieder aufgefüllt wurden.
Wir waten zufrieden.
