Old World charm with a casual vibe and modern amenities. The brilliant new owners of this venerable hotel have brought the classic property back to life for today's scholars, cyclists, and cave explorers in Les Eyzies. Guests have every modern comfort in spotless rooms tucked against the same cliff face that sheltered early modern humans. (The Abri Cro-Magnon is immediately adjacent to the hotel.) Friends and I particularly enjoyed the large, pleasant outdoor terrace and the comfortable interior lounge. Good swimming pool too -- a welcome bonus on unusually hot days this September. Breakfast is ample and self-service for breads, fruit, cheese, meats, yogurt, cereal, juice and coffee. Fresh eggs cooked to order. The Hotel le Cro-Magnon is a short, flat walk from the commercial center of Les Eyzies and the superb Museum of Prehistory. There are restaurants in the center, but if dining is available at the Cro-Magnon, choose to eat there without hesitation. Excellent food is served beautifully. There is no elevator/lift, so take that into consideration when packing your bags and selecting your room. I recommend Hotel Le Cro-Magnon with enthusiasm.

Lovely setting in an elegant mix of old and modern. Rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and comfy with large beds. Pretty pool area for relaxing on warm days. Lovely breakfast and excellent food & drink. Great location in a pretty town by the Vézère river with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops and close to several attractions.

But most of all, come here for the service. Jan and Ruud and the rest of the team go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfy.

Excellent value for money, highly recommended!

Really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Very friendly owners do their best to welcome you. Room was nice. Very pleasant terrace and pool area outside. Found the food for dinner really tasty and well made. Coffee at breakfast not strong enough for me but you can ask for an espresso should you wish to. Very friendly staff. I'd definitely recommend this family run hotel!

Lovely traditional hotel brought up to modern standards. Warm service is the keyword of this lovely place. Clean and comfy rooms, excellent pool and terrace area. Perfect continental breakfast and restaurant with varied menu. Exquisite bar with local, personal and even some Belgian beer favorites. Other great dining places close by which Jan and Ruud will help book for you if wanted. These guys are just awesome <3
