Petit hôtel intra muros sans prétention. Petites chambres propres équipées convenablement. Certaines ont vue mer. Petit déjeuner servi à table, copieux, bon accueil. Bon rapport qualité prix. Chambre à 89€ et petit dej à 12€.

Superb location next to the old city wall. Secure parking available. The owner speaks excellent English. Great value and service. Perfect for exploring the old town with its numerous shops restaurants and bars. Definitely recommended for a stay.

The location of the hotel is excellent; right in St Malo old city, within a few metres of the sea walls. The hotel itself occupies a small building footprint, out of which 3 en suite rooms are available on each floor. These rooms are understandably small and have a quirky layout. Mine, located on the top floor, hadn't seen a paintbrush or handyman in a while. Breakfast was very good and consisted of a waitress served pastries, bread, cheese, meats, a lovely fresh fruit salad and accompanying yoghurts. By far the most unpleasant aspect of my stay was the ants in my bedroom. They came in through a gap in the sealant around the window and could be found throughout the room, including the bathroom. They infested the headboard, just inches away from the pillow; I found them in the sheets, on the walls, on every surface. I had to stow my bike helmet in one of the few places they didn't seem to have found. My jacket, which was hung on the rail which serves as a wardrobe, was covered in them. Although I managed to crush quite a lot of ants with a bar of soap. There was little sleep to be had though: every itch or tickle woke me up to see whether the ants were on me. Sadly, reporting this to the proprietor in the morning simply resulted in a Gallic shrug. No apology, or acknowledgement was forthcoming. It's a shame, as everything on offer falls within the character, age and unique design. I would have scored it more highly had I received a better response to reporting the ants, and if the ants weren't in the room in the first place.
