Très bel endroit au calme, où on peut se reposer après de belles excursions dans cette région magnifique. L'accueil et le service sont irréprochables, quant à la table un régal !

Arrival was greeted warmly, with personal conduct to rooms. The standard of accommodation was excellent, as were the surroundings of the Chateau gardens - both kitchen garden (complete with chef choosing fresh produce for the dinner) and flowers / trees. The food was exquisite. Every course of the fixed menu was amazing on both evenings we ate there. Yannick, the owner, host and also head chef, was delightful. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. |Parking was excellent, in the secure grounds as was accommodation of bicycles. On our early morning departure and early breakfast was provided - with no corners cut! |THE place to stay in Brittany.

Everything about this accomodation was superb. We arrived on a Sunday, stayed in the chateau and were greeted by the proprietor Yannick who made us a lovely pot of tea served in lovely tea cups in the exquisite drawing room. A delicious breakfast was served in a seperate building on the property a short walk through the lovely garden to arrive there with very friendly and accommodating staff. We opted for the evening three course set menu on the Tuesday night local seafood sourced and prepared by Yannick with accompanying vegetables from the garden and local wines. We had trouble sourcing a taxi to get back to Dol de Bretagne when leaving early morning and Yannick came to our rescue once again to organise a taxi for our group of five. The buildings, gardens and staff were all outstanding. Thank you to Yannick and staff it has been a highlight of our journey within France.

We had booked for 2 nights, arriving from Cherbourg. Our email confirmation included the name of the room (chambre Noisette) and we confirmed reservation also for dinner next door in the 'Jardin des Simples'. - all 4 months in advance. Arrived at 4.30, gate closed but eventually opened. Inside no sign of anyone. Eventually shouted and Madame appeared. Gave her the email correspondence - she denied we had a reservation. No argument. No apology. She said that if it was a reservation, we would have paid a deposit. We were never asked for one. She told us it must be with the Jardin des Simples next door which involved going all around the complicated one way system. Arrived at the gates - all closed and a keypad. No way of getting in or of attracting attention. So rang Madame who had directed us there. She said she would get someone to come down and this happened. The man who appeared firmly told us we didn't have a reservation there either despite showing him also the email correspondence. Asked if he could help us find another hotel. "No". No apology. Told us to go to the Office de Tourisme in the nearby town. Gave us scanty inadequate directions so that by the time we eventually found it - 5.45pm - it was closed. Stranded. If it was possible to award a zero or even a minus rating, I would do it even without experiencing the facilities.

Awful, dirty, derelict. Don’t stay here!|Room wasn’t very clean. The worst thing about this hotel was we arrived on a Saturday. They are the only facility in the village serving food that night. But, they failed to tell us this so we couldn’t eat there. The nearest town was a 40 minute walk (in the rain) to find food. Sunday was the same because the hotel doesn’t have dinner service on Sunday. We had booked through a travel company and it felt like because of that, they gave us the worst room possible and the worst treatment.|We had to walk up a spiral staircase within our room to access the bed and the shower. The toilet and sitting area were down the stairs. The staff (2 women) were not helpful at all. They didn’t give us any information about breakfast, failed to tell us our bikes were at the hotel, and didn’t give us any assistance. The white haired man was a great help though.|We won’t be back and would encourage others to avoid this place
