The en-suite was perfect (including the enclosed toilet - why isn't this the norm?) with a fantastic shower and wonderful, large standalone bath.
The breakfasts were superb. Generous, varied, but with no croissants or pains de chocolat (a relief for me!). Good coffee, lots of fruit, different breads and preserves, and delicious homemade apple juice. All supplemented by different types of pancake, freshly prepared by Lydia.
Kerlaz is sleepy ville - no shops or bars. The nearest restaurant is in Douarnanez, but it's not an attractive town, unlike Quimper, which is a better bet.
Lydia's quietly warm welcome was topped off by recommending a splendid coastal walk from Plage de Trezmalaouen to Tréfeuntec (we did it the other way round). Woodland, cliff paths and beaches. Magnificent. The nearby Bois de Névet is also a lovely woodland walk.
