The roads, mountains and view is amazing.
Unica pecca, alcuni visitatori dovrebbero mostrare più rispetto per il luogo.
Also die Fahrt dorthin war schon…spartanisch. Na ohne Leitplanken an bestimmten Stellen ist man da nicht so ganz mutig.
Die Ausstellung ist beeindruckend, gut und der Film sehr informativ. Man konnte dort sehr gut verweilen und über das Leben jetzt und damals nachdenken. Man möchte ein Lob an die französischen Aussteller geben. Habe dies schon an einem anderen Ort ebenso erlebt. Genau wie in Holland. Es bringt die Geschichte etwas näher.
Danach haben wir zuerst den Weg zum Altar gemacht. Ein sehr ergreifender Ort. Von dort die Treppen runter über den Friedhof machten wir den Weg zum Trail. Wenn man sich etwas mit Geschichte auseinandergesetzt oder etwas darüber gelesen hat, war dies sehr beeindruckend.
Im Kopf Kreis das „Nie wieder…!“
Festes Schuhwerk ist für den 4km langen Rundweg umbedingt empfohlen. Also wenn man sich nicht verletzen möchte oder etwas schlecht auf den Beinen ist.
Generell kann man sich einen halben Tag Zeit nehmen wenn man es mit Ruhe besuchen möchte. Wochentags ist es sicherlich ruhiger als am Wochenende. Parkplatz kostenlos, auch ein Plus.
This is truly a sobering, tragic place. The museum's exhibits are of top-notch quality, the cemetery has great honor for the dead, and the crypt is truly impressive for the ages. My wife and I walked the trails, on both the French side and the German. It brought hope for the future to find that the French had extended an invitation to Germany to place its own memorial on the site, in the good interests of healing long-festering and simmering hatreds and deep wounds.
Alexander, who worked the front desk on the day we visited, is of the highest caliber. He was the first French person we were to interact with during our short stay near Mulhouse. We could not have asked for a more helpful, welcoming presence than he.
Whomever works at the museum, please direct him to this review. I wish to thank him publicly for such a personal, knowledgeable, and remarkably welcoming manner.
