CAMPING LE KÉROU ^{* * * *}

Emplacement dans une cuvette qui ne voit jamais le soleil, ne donne pas envie de sortir profiter du soleil qu'il pourrait faire au bar ou au restaurant (situés bien plus haut)

Overall, we enjoyed our stay for 4 nights. We were camping with a basic van and awning on a camping pitch. The positives are the location, with a short walk to beautiful beaches and coastal walks. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Great WiFi which worked with no problems. An indoor heated pool and baby pool which was great for our 1 year old. Options to rent bikes which was fun. Nice bar area with comfy chairs and relaxed atmosphere and at times live music.
A few things really let this place down though. I don’t think it is set up for people doing basic camping and is more focussed on their cabins (which looked really fantastic) or people in motorhomes. The pitch we were allocated was very sad and worn, and meant we did not want to spend anytime at our camp as it felt grim with lots of dust and bits of old plastic etc. Understandably the end of season and the pitch is well used, would have been fine in a motorhome.
The communal facilities, showers and toilets, weren’t great. Toilets with no seats, which is common in Brittany but some places do put them in. The showers were often either cold or scalding, and sadly the water didn’t ever run hot in the baby bath which was a shame as it’s such a great idea (all reported to reception at the time).
We visited in mid September and much of the town was closed, so there were limited options to eat out, which would have been fine if the bar onsite served good food, but sadly the food was a real let down. I more often than not find the food in France truly outstanding as standards are high, so I don’t understand why they didn’t have a good chef in. We really enjoyed the local area but likely wouldn’t stay again, unless it was in one of their cabins.
