LE P'TIT GOURMET - HÔTEL DU CENTRE

Très bonne cuisine familiale à 1 prix très raisonnable.

After wandering through the picturesque town of Tonerre, I decided to stop here after seeing an exciting set menu on a chalk board for €24 per person. The meal started out very well: the speedy service ensured I had my drink within 5 minutes and my starter within 10. This is where the real highlight of Le P’tit Gourmand was - the food. To start I had a delicious and exciting quiche de jambon et fromage with the crispiest and most buttery pastry you’ve ever tasted. What made this quiche unique was the perfect balance between the tanginess of the goat’s cheese and the saltiness of the ham. Following that I chose the filet mignon with potatoes and carrot purée. For me, this was the highlight of the meal: the filet mignon practically melted in my mouth and the balance between the earthiness of the carrot purée and potatoes with the richness of the filet mignon was absolutely perfect. Unfortunately it was at this point that the dining experience went downhill and the waiters seemed to lose interest in my table. We ended up waiting about 30 minutes before we asked for our table to be cleared away and for the dessert menu, despite several waiters walking past our table and seeing we were finished. For pudding, I had a tarte aux poires with vanilla ice cream, which was delicious and not too sweet which I appreciated. However, it was not enough to make up for the frankly poor service that I received. It’s really a pity because had the service lived up to the quality of food, this restaurant would really be something quite special and exciting. Instead, it feels like they are striving for something but can’t quite be bothered to get there. 3 stars.

Trouve au hasard d'une rue et franchement bonne table. Service au top et excellente cuisine. La viande de boeuf est extraordinairement bonne ???????? Merci a toute l'équipe de la part des Nat's ????????

Agréable moment au détour d'une petite rue, repas excellent avec les produits de la région. Très bon rapport qualité prix.

Cutlery was dirty and had to ask for new set. Then my glass with wine was dirty and I had to ask for a new glass of wine. The waitress didn’t want to acknowledge the dirty glass even though it was obvious. I had to insist of it to be changed. Then the Ceasar salad that I ordered had not fresh vegetables so I could not eat it. Maybe it was left over from another guest? On top of it the waitress was in a very bad and sour mood. No hospitality or service minded at all. This was a very bad experience.
I should had listen to the locals when asked if this was a good restaurant. They made a face!
