L'écurie, le restaurant à fuir au grand galop ! Déjeuner le Vendredi 3/01/25. Tout commence dans une ambiance chaleureuse, nous passons commande, la spécialité du restaurant et un plat du jour, a priori, rien de compliqué. Après 25 min d'attente, j'interroge du regard une serveuse, pas de réponse, 10 min plus tard, toujours aucune nouvelle de nos plats. Je me lève pour demander au serveur quel délais nous devons encore attendre pour être servi. Sa réponse : "Je ne sais pas monsieur, je travaille en salle moi, pas en cuisine !" Du grand art ???? Je lui dis qu'il peut aller en cuisine demander, non ? Il concent dans sa grandeur. Les plats arrivent enfin. Mais l'aventure ne se termine pas là. Au moment de payer, plus de personnel en salle. Un premier serveur au bar m'évite du regard très consciencieusement. J'avise une femme au comptoir mais elle trop occupée à faire son bilan pour se préoccuper des clients. Nous devons donc attendre qu'elle daigne lever les yeux pour enfin régler nos repas. C'est dommage de gâcher une bonne cuisine et un cadre très sympa par un service aussi déplorable.

It is hard to start such a bad review, but I’ll try to remain factual. First advice, do not come to Riquewihr the days around New Year’s Eve, you will find most of restaurants closed. Second, consider that if you make hundreds, maybe thousands of kilometres to arrive here, restaurants here open at 18h and refuse entrance at 20h. Now to the restaurant. The fois gras was very good and felt homemade. However, the choucroute and the veal heads were greasy, heavy, watery and without taste. We tried saving the night with a “chocolate fondant”, but ended up receiving the frozen industrial version. For 2 dishes each, 2 bottles of wine (good, they saved the night; hence the two stars) and two desserts shared for 4 persons, we ended up paying 63€ per person, and ate nothing. I am saddened to discover that there seems to be no love nor respect for food, ingredients or cuisine in general, in many restaurants in Riquewihr. Hard to believe we are in France, the motherland of gastronomy.

tartes flambées… bonnes mais pas excellentes. On a quand même mangé avec plaisir. Cadre original et personnel sympathique
