Aujourd'hui, avec mon épouse et mon fils nous avons déjeuné au caveau. Plats copieux, choucroute délicieuse, pas acide. Mon fils a pris le burger alsacien, il a adoré. Le Pinot gris et les Riesling proposés étaient un nectar. Une décoration superbe et le personnel servant très agréable. Si vous allez à Riquewihr, faites vous plaisir au cep de Vigne.

The owner told us the building dated from the 1400s, and we could believe it.|The rooms are more grim, dark apartments of varying sizes, with memorabilia, lots half-timber sightings, creaky wooden steps straight out of a Grimm Brothers' production but (thankfully) clean toilets. The beds were simple but comfortable and the curule attached to the bedroom was a nice place to observe life in a medieval setting, if you will. |If you're lucky enough to be assigned an apartment on a higher floor, try not to descend some of the steps too quickly, especially after a drink.|Though it's a very basic property, we found it an interesting experience. There were a few things lacking: (1) You need to pretend the blower in the toilet actually works (or open one of the bedroom windows), (2) The Wi-fi is terrible, and (3) Ditto for the heating (maybe it was just our room). Otherwise, the cleanliness was impeccable.|The restaurant wasn't open when we stayed there, so cannot comment, though it looked like it could generate a good vibe.|The location of the hotel is fantastic - everything worthwhile to see in town is just 100-200m away.|The memorabilia in such family-run hotels always excites, and this is particularly so in the Alsace region which suffered so much during the world wars. There was a black-and-white picture of a band from 1939, with most members posing with their instruments, looking jolly. Probably the local Blues Brothers. One can't help but wonder what happened to them and what stories their descendants, if they survived, could tell.

Restaurant war leider zu sind dann einfach mal in zum degustieren in den Weinkeller war super schön
